I don't like to wear or apply makeup but I wear it on a daily basis because it makes me look more professional at work and more grown up in the real world.  Since I choose to wear makeup out of habit not necessity I want it to look and feel great.

I love wearing eyeliner and I love the liquid eyeliners that give you that skinny sleek wicked like appeal on the eyes.  I have dark brown eyes and black eyebrows and oh, very light and thin eyelashes.  So applying an eyeliner tends to make my eyes stand out more boldly.  I wear the ebony or jet black eyeliner to make my eyes look deeper and richer.

I'm pretty good at applying liquid eyeliner but I always have a hard time finding a product I really like.  While shopping at Walmart one day I saw the Maybelline Define-A-Line Eyeliner on an endcap away from the makeup department.  I wasn't really in need of more eyeliner but it was the price that caught my attention, 2 eyeliners for $5.  I read the product information and thought this might be something I would like to try so I dropped a package in my buggy.

The product guarantees:

New & improved Expert Wear® Defining Liner
Sharpener/smudger

  • Glides on smoothly and precisely in just one stroke.
  • Contoured smudger makes blending easy.
  • Safe for sensitive eyes
  • Contact lens safe
  • Opthalmologist tested

 Ingredients:

Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Coco Glycerides, Cera Microcristallina (Microcrystalline) Wax, Cera Alba/Beeswax, Carnauba (Carnauba Wax), Polymethyl Methacrylate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Tin Oxide, May Contain (+/-): CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 / Iron Oxides, Mica (CI 77891), Titanium Dioxide, CI 77007 (Ultramarines), CI 77510 (Ferric Ferrocyanide), CI 75470 (Carmine)

Define-A-Line Eyeliner comes in 8 different colors from Ebony and soft black, to various shades of brown to a pretty plum.  I think I might like to try the plum.

At one end of the applicator is your eyeliner pencil.  It's not the hard eyeliner pencil that your mother used.  This is a smooth felt-tip like pencil and when you apply it it goes on smooth and wet like a liquid.  The tip is narrow enough to give you a thin line.  At the other end of the applicator is the smudger or sponge.  I haven't used it yet but I have used a smudger in the past.  Ladies tend to apply the eyeliner and then smudge it to give a more seductive appeal; especially for an evening look.  I'm all about clean lines and class.

I have severe allergies and many eye makeup products will cause my tear ducts to flow like I'm crying.  I haven't had that problem with this makeup.  My eyes don't burn or tingle after applying it so if there is a fragrance in this product I can't tell.

This eyeliner last all day long!  I usually apply my makeup early in the morning and when I get home from 10 or 12 hours later the eyeliner is still there.  I wish I could say the same for my Neutrogena eyeshadow and blush.  Unlike mascara, the eyeliner comes off fairly easy with just soap and water.  However, I do use an eye makeup remover for my mascara so the eyeliner comes off quickly.

Have you ever wanted to use a liquid eyeliner but knew you couldn't apply it well?  This might just be the product for you.  Drugstore.com is selling it for $4.99 as a BOGO.  I believe Walmart is selling the 2 for 1 packages too.  Go out and get yourself a stick.  You'll be looking elegant within minutes and you'll be in love with the product!

I want to try plum! I tend to prefer liquids also but it sounds like this is a good alternative. :)

This one sounds pretty good although pencils just don't seem to stay on me like liquids and gels. Wow, you got a LOT of hair cut! I have been thinking of cutting my hair to shoulder length but everyone is telling me not to. Good for you to go for such a drastic change!
