Maybelline Define-A-Lash Mascara Review

I have tried a LOT of different mascaras!  I have tried almost all of the brands that are available at places like Target or Walmart and have a few favorites.  The Maybelline Define-A-Lash Mascara is now in my favorites category.

Prior to trying this mascara, I had two favorites that I bought routinely: CoverGirl Lash Exact and CoverGirl Lash Blast.  Although Maybelline Define-A-Lash Mascara doesn't meet all three of my requirements for a mascara, I just might change the rules for this product - it's that good.

My three requirements for a good mascara are: lengthening, volumizing and separating.  I can't stand thick, globby mascara that leaves clumps or short, puny lashes that are unnoticeable.  Maybelline describes this mascara by saying: "Zero clumps, sleek definition, sensuous length."  Although this mascara doesn't meet my volumizing requirement, it totally exceeded my expectations with lengthening and separating.

The brush is very different from any brush I have used before - it actually bends!  As you apply the mascara to your lashes, the brush slightly bends to conform to your lashes.  The mascara is very thin and sleek and allows you to apply as many layers as you want before it dries.  The lengthening that Maybelline Define-A-Lash Mascara provides is amazing.  This mascara provides the best lengthening that I have ever experienced.  Usually more than one coat of a mascara leaves my lashes clumpy, but not with this one - you could apply 5 layers and your lashes will get longer and longer and still remain clump-free. 

Length and separation are 10 stars, but this mascara does not add volume.  I didn't think I would like a mascara that doesn't volumize lashes, but I absolutely love this mascara.  I tend to wear it during the day instead of when I go out at night and want more dramatic lashes - that's when I use CoverGirl Lash Blast.

The Scoop!

If you like super-long lashes and separation, I highly recommend this mascara.  I am able to apply a million layers and it still stays clump-free and my lashes got so long, I thought they were going to touch my glasses!  I will definitely continue to purchase this mascara.
