This is the liner that I use to highlight the inner corner of my eyes. It's shimmery so it doesn't leave my eyes looking flat like regular white liners do. I used to use NYX's white liner but this one is so much better! It lasts a very long time and there is a great selection of colors. The only negative thing that I have to say is that I wish the consistency was a little firmer. Sometimes when I use it, it will crumble on me and get in my eye because it's a little too soft. I don't mind if this product smudges because I blend it out when I use it as a highlighter so it's not a big deal to me. Also, as a warning, please be careful after you are done sharpening this. There have been numerous times when I have almost poked myself in the eye because of the way it sharpens.

The Maybelline cool effect cooling shadow liner in on the rocks is a great make up tool. It applies the eyeliner or eye shadow very smoothly and with no clumps. I also love the color and saw that there were a lot of other colors in the store. I would be excited to try other colors as well. It's nice because it has a bit of shimmer in it but not too much that it seems excessive. It's great for a night on the town or just to brush up a bit with your make up. I don't usually wear a lot of eye make up so if I am generally people think I must be dressed up for some occassion. With the Maybelline eye shadow liner I can at a touch of glamour without appearing too dressed up or anything. If you are looking for an easy to use eye make up applier I would definitely recommend that you give this a try. It stays on and lasts all day without worries of smudging or smearing. It also is relatively inexpensive.

I have used this kind of eye shadow for probably 6-7 years.  I used to love it, and I do still love it.  However, the quality of this product in the past 2 years or so is significantly less.  When I pull the cap off a new eye shadow, the pencil of color itself fits tightly into the lead that you sharpen.  However, in a few days or after a few sharpenings, the pencil of color automatically drops down into the lead (approximately 1/2 inch to 1 inch, which is a huge amount for eye shadow).  It's almost as if it was incorrectly made or carelessly incomplete from the factory.  I have returned several, but even after much disappointment and trips to the drug store to try another batch, I continue to buy it because it is my favorite.  It's just what I'm used to.  I have noticed that many many stores have stopped carrying it altogether, so I just buy it when I can and expect to be disappointed.  As far as other qualities - I love how it rolls on smoothly and the color options are great.  It gets greasy quickly and causes my eyeliner to fudge up a bit, but overall it works okay for the everyday eye shadow.

I really like the Maybelline Cool Effect Cooling Shadow/Liner!! Especially the lighter shades like Peach Daquiri, Ice Blizzard, etc....I love light pastel colors rather than darker colors. I have been using this product for quite a while now...I think I have bought a lot of the shades I have right now a few times now. I know this product can be used as both a shadow and a liner...however, i have only used this product as a liner. Therefore, I can't technically speak for the other option as to whether it stays on long and/or creases on the eyelids. I love to use the peach on my undereye water line. I think the peachy-tan color will complement people eyes (by making it bigger) better than having white shade on the undereye water line because it doesn't look as fake. but I do use the ice breeze on the inner corner of my eyes. Overall the Maybelline Cool Effect Cooling as a liner works great! I love the color. The product definitely stays on and strong all day until I take my makeup off! 100% great product as a liner! =)

I decided to try Maybellin Cool Effect Cooling Shadow and Liner. I usually use striaght black eyeliner and then follow with shadow. I bought this and searching in the makeup aisle for a while :) Before work, I am usually in a hurry and my usual makeup routine takes a little longer than I would like it to. I decided to try and find a product that would cut down on the time it takes to get ready. I used this one morning and doubled it as eyeshadow and liner. This worked great! I was able to blend the lines on top of my eyelid and greater define my eyelid. This product is great and is especially cheap for the different purposes it serves. The only downfall I can find with this product is that there are not very many colors to chose from. Some of the color options are a bit extreme for me and seem a little to bright, but might be good for others. Hope to find some more good colors in this good product!

I don't wear a lot of makeup: usually eyeliner, concealer under the eyes, mascara, and if I remember, a little mineral foundation powder.  I'd been wanting a more polished look, however, and on the recommendation of a friend, I went to look at shadow/liner pencils.  I ended up with Maybelline's and haven't been disappointed. I got the sparkly brown pencil, thinking black would be a bit too much for my regular daytime routine, and I'm glad I did. What I end up with every day is a quick swipe across my lashes, a little smudging to soften the line, a little mascara, and I'm done.  I get exactly what I wanted: a more polished look in less time than I was spending with eyeliner pencil. The only complaint I have is that it doesn't always smudge exactly how I'd like it to, but that may be more a problem of user error than formula. Long story short, I'm going back for more in different colors. I wish I'd known that a good eye was as easy to get as this a long time ago!

I love using the icy cool shade of this pencil to smudge on my eyelid and the corner of my eye to really brighten up my eye area. I usually use it all over my upper eyelid under the crease, then follow up with whatever eye shadow I'll be wearing for the day. I have dark pigmented skin around my eyes, so this whitish shade really helps cover up the darkness and allows the color to stand out. I like that it's a wide pencil so it allows me to cover a large area fast, which is a must for a busy mom. I can quickly dab it on my eyelid, smudge with my finger, dab a little on the inside corner of my eye, and go over with a colored eye shadow. Then follow with mascara and I've got an easy bright- eyed look. I have tried other brands of brightening eye shadow, but nothing goes on as smooth and lasts as long as this one by Maybelline. For fair skin, any color should stand out beautifully. I'll definitely keep using this pencil.

The Maybelline Cool Effect Cooling Shadow / Liner is a great eyeliner and shadow effect creator in one. It comes in what looks like a big chunky pencil. There was one con to this product. I found that the tip of the pencil tended to break very easily. A considerable amount of pressure is needed so that you can get a pretty good color on your lids, however, with that pressure comes the breakage. I have tried this product in a pink color and found that you could not even tell I was wearing anything and I felt that it just tugged on my eyelids and created no shadow effect. It is a relatively inexpensive product so I did not feel bad for buying it. I do not like that I have to sharpen this product fairly frequently. It does last for a while when you apply it to your eyes, so that is a plus. I do not think that I will be buying this product in the future but it is a lways good to give a new product a try.

Ok, heres the deal. I trust maybelline with all of my foundation needs without a doubt. So one day, when i ran out of eyeliner i decided to give this new item a try. I purchased the black shade and from the looks of it in the store, the pencil was large and fat. No need to spend alot of time adorning your top lash, right? Wrong. I put this product on and from the second i blinked my eyes, they instantly started to burn uncontrollably. I tried desperetly to wash and rub this product of, but it did nothing but smudge and leave horrible stains across my face. Dont even attempt to put on the inside lash! It took about twenty minutes to fully recover from this horrible incedent leaving late for my appointment and makeupless from all of the irritation. Now i decided a few months later,after stumbling across this product in my makeup collection, that maybe i just did something wrong or maybe i was just a fluke. I was wrong. Same outcome, same reaction. Will never use again. Another con would be that the pencil is made from plastic, not wood, so it is virtually impossible to sharpen this thing. I tried everything, including taking off the base and trying to push the liner up. No success. Overall i WOULD NOT recomend this product to anybody!

I just came back from using our industrial/school strength wall-mounted adjustable pencil sharpener to get my Maybelline liner back into useable shape. I tried a regular little pencil sharpener at home before that. And a knife. And I'm an artist, so I have a lot of practice sharpening pencil-like things. Not this one. This one must be made of petrified wood. If anyone here has a good fix for the sharpening part, please, leave a comment. Other than that -- Love it! I have the pale silver color, and I swear this is the only brand that has a shade that's light enough to stand out on dark-ish skin. The shade is **48-Gives Me Chills**. It goes on smoothly (once you sharpened it), you can smudge it around with your fingers to keep an even coverage, and it lasts all day. It also doesn't make your eye-lids itch,  and if it doesn't make my eyes itch, that's saying something, trust me.  Comes off easily with water alone. Costs little. Great stuff. Made right her in the US of A, too.
