If you are looking for a VERY reliable, easy to use, and lightweight external hard drive for your data storage/transfer needs, this is the drive for you! I bought this drive after hours of searching, reading, reviewing, and comparing every manufacturer and drive option out there. No other drive available is rated as high from editors and users alike.
I have a larger, older Maxtor OneTouch III desktop drive that I store everything on. Never had an issue with it and, until I purchased this drive last week (Nov. 12, 2007), I would drag that monster back and forth between my office and home. Now I have a much lighter, faster drive with the same reliability as my older drive.
And, as I am writing my dissertation for my PhD, data security and accessability are CRUCIAL! Flash drives are great, but their relatively small capacity and small size makes them fill up fast and easy to lose.
The only downside to this drive is that the pre-installed software on the drive is not included on a recovery CD. I would also recommend getting a small hard drive carrying case to carry the drive and USB cable. Keeps them together and harder to forget when leaving for the day.
