Maxi Cosi Phantom carseat

3

i love this seat but it does have it's drawbacks. as a fan of rear facing as long as possible this seat forced me to forward face at 35lbs and then the child maxes out of the carseat at only 40lbs. lucky for us, our second child will be using this seat before our first child hits 40 lbs. i wish he could use it longer. this is the best seat for long trips. there are 4 recline positions that can be adjusted while the carseat is installed. when on a long trip we can recline it if he falls asleep and then sit him back up when he wakes up. The carseat is super easy to install with the push button latch clips. much easier than those hard to use clips. it also has clips to help keep the seatbelt tight when installing it with just your vehicle safety belt. the fabric is easy to keep clean and nice and comfy for the child to sit in. i just wish that it came with a cup holder. my son actually asked me why it didn't have one. :) over all great seat, just don't expect it to last much past two depending on the size of your child. great option if you decide to pass on the infant carseat. Ease of Installation love the super latch installation! Child's Comfort love that it reclines with out having to uninstall it first Design just wish it would have a higher rearfacing weight limit

My son loves this seat!

After much research and wanting an infant/toddler seat that would last a while, I settled on the Maxi-cosi convertible and boy am I glad that I did!  Installation was a snap using the latch system in my SUV.  The cover removes easily and I have machine washed it (air dry) several times with no sign of wear.  The large headrest sides make it extremely comfortable for my son, who inevitably falls asleep on any car ride longer than 10 minutes! He doesn't fuss about getting buckled in and is still rear facing at 14 months.  I plan on keeping him rear facing until as close as 2 years as I can, or until he will no longer tolerate it.  My only complaint is that the buckle between the legs has only one setting and can't be moved, like the shoulder straps.  I feel this seat would benefit from having another slot to put the buckle, because I feel like it's getting tight in that area and I don't want to hurt him.  Overall, I love this seat!

I'll stick with Britax

I don't hate this seat, but i by no means love it. It is really cute and sleek. It is VERY easy to install and go from rear facing to forward facing. I did love this seat while rear facing. It installed easy and felt very secure. My daughter seems comfy in it. I like how easy the chest clasp is to buckle and unbuckel, but i worry that it will be easier for a toddler to undo than the more common style clasps. It is quite easy to clean. I don't like that it has a lower weight limit becasue i have big kids (very tall)! I got this carseat basically free with store credit or i wouldnt have bought it. We switched the carseat to forward facing and I can't (nor can anyone that has tried) get the seat in tight. Our britax won't move a millimeter and the maxi cosi moves like crazy. It's rear facing again and my DD is just getting way too big for it...only a few pounds away from max weight. I'm not sure if the wiggle problem is just how the seat fits in my car or me or what...but we're getting another marathon soon!

Great seat!

The Maxi Cosi car seat is a great convertible seat.  When our daughter moved from facing backward to the front, she was in another brands seat. She cried all the time and could not get comfortable.  We had to find another option for her, and after researching the brands, we decided on the the Maxi Cosi.  The seat is great and we love that it can be reclined with an easy pull on the handle.  My daughter loves the seat and it makes long car rides in the car a breeze.  Best purchase we made for her.

Great car seat and cool looking in tango red

We have been using the Maxi Cosi Priori since my daughter was a year old. First of all it looks very plush and modern. I did all of the set up and install, so it can't be that hard because I am not that mechanically inclined. I struggled a little with some of the instructions, but I do that with all kinds of things that I put together, so it is probably more of a reflection on me. The seat is a bit hard to install using the latch system until you get the hang of it. The trick is to push straight in and not at an angle with the buckles. But once it's installed it seems very secure. And the best feature is the recline! Once my daughter falls asleep I can reach back with one hand and easily recline her seat so her head doesn't bob forward like it does in the car seat her grandma has. I also like that it is pretty easy to buckle her in, there is no holding things together while trying to push them in a hole or anything. Just straight forward buckle her in. A great car seat and one we will get again for our next kiddo.

Pretty good

After using the Maxi Cosi infant seat we decided to use the same brand for our next car seat. One of the main reasons that we chose this seat was that it is designed to be compact. A lot of the larger car seats wouldn't fit in our backseat. Even this one was a tight fit (when in the rear facing position the front seat had to be moved up pretty far).  We drive a VW Jetta, and my other complaint about the fit is that it couldn't be installed correctly in the middle of the back seat. Because of the design of the car, there is a crack that runs down one side of the back seat (so that the easts can fold down). When installed in the middle, one side of the car seat would fall into the crack causing it to sit at an angle. This happened in both forward facing and rear facing. Again this is probably specific to our car, but it might be something to consider if you have a car with a similar design.  Overall the seat is pretty easy to use. It wasn't easy to install, but I don't think that any car seat really is if installed correctly. The first time I installed it I took it to the fire station and they showed/ helped me do it correctly. The only other weird thing is that over time one side of the harness strap got tighter than the other. It made it hard to buckle on that side and didn't seem to fit properly. We had to re-thread the straps, and so far so good. I have heard that some kids grow out of the seat sooner than designed. My daughter is 2 and as of now she is't even close to being too big yet.

Perfect seat for our car and our baby

The Maxi-Cosi Priori is just what we were looking for in our daughter's next car seat. It's sleek and compact without too many bells or whistles. We did ALOT of research before we settled on this particular make of carseat and we are really happy with our choice. It's nice and lightweight and not monstrous like other seats out there. It was easy to install and we like the fun colors too! Highly recommended for parents looking for a great seat without the huge price tag

It is very important to me that my children sit in good quality car seats. I want the crash test ratings to be superior, because nothing is more important to me than my childrens' health. I am willing to pay a good chunk of money for their safety. On top of that I want the seats to be comfortable for them. The Maxi Cosi Priori car seat fulfills all of the above and more! My 10 year old son has always loved his Maxi  Cosi seats and it wasn't a hard decision for us when it came to choosing our second son's car seats. He had a Maxi Cosi Mico when he was an infant and we bought this seat as the following seat. Ever since he was 9 months old we have been using this seat. He absolutely loves sitting in it. It has different reclining levels and this is great for when the baby is asleep. We just recline the seat and he is a lot more comfortable and his head does not fall forward to rest on his chest. Also the material of the seat is easily to clean. We love this seat.

COnvertable Carseat thats super easy to install

4

We love this Maxi Cosi carseat.  My daughter was in this seat from about 9 months and is still in the seat at 2 and a half.  THis car seat is by far the easiest convertable carseat to install that we have had.  Since this car seat goes between her dad and I's, and even the grandparents sometimes, that is very important to us.  It was a little bulky when she was rearfacing in our Jeep but now that she is forward facing it fits great in our car.  My daughter loves this seat and has always seemed confortable riding in the car.  We took the car seat cover off one time to wash but it was difficult to get on and off so since than we have only spot cleaned it when necessary.  I love how padded this car seat is.  The color has not faded and masks a lot of stains and spills from a toddler:)  We are currently looking into getting another Maxi Cosi carseat for our 7 month old son but might just get our daughter a newer high back carseat that hopefully will be the last car seat we will need.  I do not see this carseat lasting until she is 4.

Cute color but hard to instal

3

I loved this car seat when I saw it. The bright color was fun and different from other seats used. It was a little pricey compared to other seats but I eventually bought it. This is my "spare" second car seat and I am happy I don't use it very often. This car seat is very difficult to install. The seat belts get twisted and it doesn't lock in tightly. After setting it up with the seat belt, saftey strap (That hooks to the back of the car dash and even used the belt snaps on the side and the carseat still moved and tipped over when I would go around turns. This obviously is not safe. If you have bucket seats in your car it is even worse. I cannot get the seat to lock in and stay flush against the bucket seat. Overall for the amount of money you will pay there are better options out there. Having to install a car seat shouldn't be that difficult.
