I am not one for wearing foundation because I have never been one to be able to apply the liquid makeup that good.  I have tried the matted foundations, the pressed powders and so forth but none seem to work for me until I discovered the Max Factor Pan-Cake.

It's a round compact, a bit larger than the compacts that you use to apply powder.  The pan-cake is a water activated foundation.  You take a makeup sponge and wet it.  I then wring it out so that I don't have a lot of water dripping into the compact case.  Rub the sponge across the pan-cake and then apply.  I like that the makeup goes on smooth.  If I have it a little wetter than I desire I just finish applying the foundation and then I do something else for a minute or two to allow it to dry.

The Max Factor Pan-Cake produces a nice smooth finish.  It doesn't sit heavily on your face.  In fact you might not think you have a foundation on but you will see the difference.  I love this makeup so much that since purchasing it I have been wearing foundation every day and that is a rarity for me!

The Max Factor Pan-Cake sells for $8-9 but I got mine on sale at Walmart for $5.  I wasn't sure about choosing the right color so I just began picking up the containers and placing them on my hand to see the color match.  I selected Tan No. 1 (109) and it blends well with my complexion. This 1.7 oz compact lasts a good while.  I've been using the same one now for about 2 months now and I'm just starting to wear down the middle.  You control how much you use by how many times you drag your damp sponge across the pan-cake.  I am usually able to get full facial coverage with two sweeps.

Ingredients:

Talc, Mineral Oil, Water, Stearic Acid, PEG 32, PEG 6, Glycerin, Stearate SE, Triethyanalomine, Lanolin, Propylparaben, Sorbic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Fragrance, Sulfated Caster Oil, Methylparaben, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide, May Contain:, Ultramarines

As long as Max Factor sells this makeup I think I have found a foundation that I love.  Like the saints sing, "How firm a foundation..."

I always feel the same way. I actually buy an extra one at least if I love something because they always seen to discontinue stuff I really love. I should try this. The though of "pancake makeup" though reminds me of thick, cakey makeup which, from your review, I see it isn't. I just cringe at the name,

Thanks and I'm probably as in love with this makeup as you are with the new mascara. I always get worried when I find a product I really like because I get concerned about how long they will keep it. I hope this becomes a classic because it's the best foundation ever.

You of all people know that I am always quoting lines from songs and movies. If I can make a connection I do. This makeup really is awesome and a whole lot cheaper than the Clinique stuff that I usually wear.

My daddy needs to see this review. He would be so proud of you for putting a plug for a hymn in a makeup review. That is too funny :+)

Haven't tried this but it sounds like you've had really good results. Great review! It's not often that you get the chance to throw the line of a hymn in either...LOL! Good one!
