So I just spent $200 on a pair of Maui Jim shades. These things are great. A little heavier than my old Ray Ban sporty shields, but they block glare and look good as well.
So, all you blue-eyed people, don't skimp on eye protection. Get a good pair of sunglasses with polarized lenses to protect those pale retinas. Maui Jims are a good choice.

ah yes! Summer is here and the sun is bright! What now....how about eye protection. I have owned them all and although Revo is top line, I prefer Maui Jims. With the 7 layer technology lens you can't go wrong. A layer for eye fatigue, Polorized lenses, a layer to fight back glare (glare from when the sun is behind you and hits the lense from inside). I find that they have great customer service, high quality frames and lenses, and perfect for any sport! However, they are expensive about 100.00 and up. I bought my Volcano glasses primarily due to my sensitivity to sun light. I wanted the darkest glasses possible. The Maui Jim Volcano was my solution. These glasses have lasted me for at least 3 years without any problems despite several drops. One of my drops would have shattered most other glasses -- the Maui Jim didn't even blink (sorry, no pun intended).
While I had to pay a little more than previous glasses, I would have paid twice what I did just to own them. As a matter of fact, I am looking to buy a backup pair...why? In case I lose them. I don't worry about breaking them!!...

I bought my pair of maui Jim sunglasses over a year ago, then one morning while putting them on the arm snapped. I phoned the customer repair service and they told me I can get the arm replaced for free!!!
I sent the glasses in, with proof of purchase, on the Monday and to my amazement had them back on the friday! (while a postal strike was on- going!)
But to my amazement they had also replaced both lenses completely free! I would definately recommend buying a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses, and will definately buy more pairs in the future- as it is peace of mind that a great service is there when...

I have owned 3 pairs of Maui Jims (plastic frames).
My wife lost one.
I ran over one pair with a duley truck & the frames & lenses were fine, for about two months.
One pair snapped in half very easily.
I love the lenses, they are top of the line. However, for the price, I would not recommend or ever purchase the plastic framed ones again.
I just bought these sunglasses and love them!
They fit great and are stylish. They keep the sun out and work fantastic.
They cost more then I would normally spend, but I had lasik surgery and needed really good sunglasses. They came highly recommended.
They are comfortable, they come with a great case and cleaning rag.
I just love them!
