I hate buying sunglasses. I lose the cheap ones, and the expensive ones are, well, expensive. But it turns out that I have very sensitive eyes, and the better the sunglasses, the better I'm protecting myself from UV light, blah, blah, blah. — — So I just spent $200 on a pair of Maui Jim shades. I've had my Maui Jim Volcano for a little over a year now. Yes these glasses are expensive. But then how much are your eyes worth? The optics on these glasses are the best I've ever experienced. I've got the HCL bronze lense which is great for conditions ranging form overcast to a sunny day on the beach. Where they really excel are in driving. Not only do they protect your eyes from bright light and glare, they also clear up your vision with better contrast. I bought my Volcano glasses primarily due to my sensitivity to sun light.  I wanted the darkest glasses possible.  The Maui Jim Volcano was my solution.  These glasses have lasted me for at least 3 years without any problems despite several drops.  One of my drops would have shattered most other glasses -- the Maui Jim didn't even blink (sorry, no pun intended). — While I had to pay a little more than previous glasses, I would have paid twice what I did just to own them.  As a matter of fact, I am looking to buy a backup pair...why?  In case I lose… read full review »

I was reluctant to buy these but a sales person at an optical shop highly recommended them and said that she felt they were the best sunglasses on the market.  She felt the other high fashion sunglasses were just fashionable and not funtional at all.  The prices of the fashionable glasses were even higher price at times and felt they were not functional.  I decided to try them on and did like them but I wanted to do research before I invested the money.  I saw such great reviews and decided to buy them.  After wearing them for the summer I did find them great and… read full review »

I love to play golf and be outdorrs all summer long.  I purchased a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses and I must tell you they are fantastic!  Not only are they lightweight, but the polarized lenses are well worth the expense.  I had a small crack in one of the lenses and sent them to a Maui Jim repair center and the repaired the glasses...for FREE!  I am not easily suprised and this shocked me.  I am sticking with Maui Jim for a long… read full review »

Purchased my first pair 10 years ago and kept them in great shape.  The lenses were glass and a bit heavy.  Received a new pair for Christmas in 2007 and they were the best present ever! i work for a luxottica group and maui jims are awsome glasses. They protect against road glare, water glare, you see the colors are more sharper. Maui jim also provides glasses for sport and all of them are polorized. They fit almost anyones face and they are unisex. I don't by any sunglasses that are not $1 or less. What is the point? All you need is something that will help you be able to see in the sunshine. I like all kinds of sunglasses. I dont care how they look on me. Why should anyone else care? They are here to help me. I hate when people try to sell sunglasses for 15 or more.
