Many of our reviewers have fond memories of their childhood playing the popular Mattel Toss Across Game but are finding that their memories may not live up to the experience with their own children. The Toss Across game may be played indoors or out and is a version of Tic Tac Toe where children throw bean bags at the nine squared “board” trying to reach three in a row. The major complaint with this toy is that the bags are not sturdy enough to turn over the squares and many children become bored or frustrated with the effort long before the game is over. Other reviewers say that it “takes up too much space when stored.” Those reviewers who still enjoy this game and play it with their children appreciate the gross motor skills that they can learn as well as competition.
