We were first introduced to the board game, Apples to Apples, by our daughter and son-in-law. We spent a weekend playing it. When we got home I went out and bought the game. It's super!
We played and bought the Party Box. There are other versions. We got
Apples to Apples is intended for 4 to 10 players. From experience the more players you have the more fun the game is. It is made for those over 12 years old. You can finish the game in about 1/2 hour but you'll want to play again.
How to play
Each player is dealt seven red apple cards. On each...
read full review »Apples to Apples is a game that every game enthusiast should play and own. This is also a great game for people who are not very competitive, and do not play games for that reason.
Apples to Apples is for ages 12 and up, although my children who are younger than that have also played with us an enjoyed it. It is for 3-10 players- and the more the merrier!
Everyone is given a certain amount of cards. (depends on how many people are playing) They do not show their cards to anyone else. These (red)cards will list a person, place, thing or event, with a short description of it. (usually a very entertaining...
read full review »My mother got me this Apples To Apples game last year for Christmas and the first time we ever played it we knew we had a great game! You get delt a certain amount of cards that say all kinds of different things on them like Boogers, Queen of England, Salt, World War 2, A mummy, Independence Day. Stuff like that then someone throws out a card that says something like, Funny or Amazing or Gross and you have to throw one of your cards face down and remember what it says to best describe that card like I would throw down Boogers or a card that says Picking your nose. I don't ever do anything justice...
read full review »Apples to Apples is a great game for a larger group of people, say at a holiday or birthday party. It's all about being able to read people, whether you know them or not, predicting how they will respond in this game. The goal of the game is to collect as many of the adjectives laid out to play as possible. You do this by matching up a noun in your deck of cards to the adjective. The matching does not necessarily have to be logical or correct. You have to be able to predict the reaction of the person who played the adjective (taking turns around the circle). This game is very entertaining. It can...
read full review »Apples to Apples is one of the most fun games I have ever played. It involves two types of cards: red cards with nouns on them, such as "Madonna" or something as simple as "mud" and green cards with a descriptive word on it. Each player is given seven of the red cards. There is a different judge chosen for each round, usually the group just alternates through a circle. The judge picks up a green card and reads the word on it, along with the synonyms for it. Each player, not including the judge, picks one of their red cards they think goes best with the green card. They put it face down...
read full review »Discovered Apples to Apples about 2-3 years ago, and I must say it is a fabulous game, particularly when played with a group of between five and eight people. (It's not very fun with any less than four players).
Anyhow, the concept of the game is ridiculously easy and the game is fun to play. It never gets old, if:
1. You play with different groups of people
2. You are willing to play with some of the optional versions/rules.
I say this, because if you always play the standard, regular version; and you always play with the same group of people, you will get very tired of the game after awhile....
