I admit, I wasn't thrilled with Matrix Amplify Volumizing Shampoo at first but I have found that it can be effective and give you thicker, fuller and more volume to your hair. My husband and middle daughter have thin hair. They have (well one of them) plenty of it. The other girls in the family including me have thick, heavy hair and lots of it, so I wasn't all that excited about "thicker hair." The first few times I still wasn't impressed but my the "volume" of my review has changed. I like that our hair is fuller and has more volume. In some cases I'm not even used a blow dryer to get volume, but using some gel and giving it a scrunch and then taming it when it's dry so it is a lot healthier for my hair. For those with thin hair they are thrilled with the results. But remember just like anything else if you don't use it you lose it so it is a shampoo needed to be used consistently to achieve results. Effectiveness Thicker, fuller, stronger hair. Scent I actually don't notice a distinct scent. My daughter's hair smells nice after it dries though.

Several years ago my daughter thought she would save some money by having a friend highlight her hair.  They purchased a kit in the drugstore, and her friend promised her that she had successfully highlighted several of her friends hair.  This was done without my knowledge, or I would have stepped in. To make a long story short, my daughters hair was chemically burned from over processing, and literally half of her beautiful thick hair ended up in the kitchen sink.  We were both sick about it, and I took her to our hairdresser for a new short hairstyle and some expert advice.  What was recommended to her was Matrix Amplify Volumizing Shampoo.  It worked so well for her that when we visited family in Colorado I bought two bottles at a beauty supply store.  My sister-in-law is a hair dresser, and my niece was the manager of the beauty supply store.  They also highly recommended Amplify shampoo. Matrix has patented the technology used in this shampoo, and they claim that it actually works with hair fibers to make hair look fuller.  It took a while because my daughters hair was so badly damaged, but in time this shampoo really did deliver on its promises.  This is a lightly scented shampoo that is a pleasure to use.  Unfortunately, it is quite expensive and I don't buy it for myself unless it is on sale, or we go back to visit family.  My sister-in-law did send me a large bottle for my birthday once, which was a fantastic gift! To conclude, if you have fine or thin hair, and you can afford the expense, I feel that Matrix Amplify Volumizing Shampoo is well worth the investment to see if it will help your hair look fuller and healthier. Effectiveness Cleans well and leaves hair shiny. This was recommended by my sister in law who is a beautician, and it really does add body to my fine hair Scent Nothing particularly interesting about the scent

This shampoo is a favorite of mine. It does create great volume, especially if you use it with the Matrix Amplify Voluminizing Conditioner. Products are always designed to work complimentary to ones in the same line. This is so the ingredients do not work against each other and give an undesired effect. This Volumizing shampoo (with the condition) does not weigh the hair down and leaves fine hair light and airy, but without the frizzy "out of control" look of some volumnizing products. Sometimes, when you take away the wax ingredients that make up many regular hair products, you are stuck with fly aways. But, with the Matrix Amplify Voluminizing Shampoo, you do not have to worry about this problem. You will have beautiful, soft (but, not too soft) and easy to manage hair, without the need to apply a seperate product that takes away all the volume that was achieved. Give this shampoo, or both the shampoo and conditioner a try. They are well worth budgeting in.

I have fine hair with a slight curl, so finding a shampoo/conditioner that worked for me was tricky. At first, I used Pantene's fine hair products, but my hair only became oily and gross. I later learned from talking to a stylist and through my own research, that Pantene's product only swells the cuticles of the hair, but doesn't actually offer good hair health. That's when I decided to turn to Matrix Amplify. Sure, it was a little more bang for my buck, but it was well worth the investment. Since using Matrix Amplify, my hair is vibrant, shiny, and I don't even have to use any other products to enhance body (which actually helps me to save money!) My hair feels naturally beautiful, clean, and vivacious. I didn't know that my confidence would actually increase just from using a higher priced shampoo. Instead of going to the hairdresser with fried ends, I have beautiful hair that the hairdresser loves to work with--all because of Matrix Amplify Volumizing Shampoo (and conditioner).

I have always been a big fan of Biloage and Matrix products.  I like to switch my shampoo and conditioners out every time the bottles run out.  I just recently picked up the Amplify Volumizing shampoo by Matrix and I'm in love.  I have short hair and styling it is so easy but I'm trying to grow it out now and when i take the flat iron to it it gets really really straight.  If i back comb and hairspray it it will last probably a couple of hours and then start to flatten.  When i started using this shampoo it made the backcombing and fluffing so much easier and it lasts all day.  I use the shampoo and conditioner adn then when i go to style my hair I use the Matrix Amplifying Mousse and it is such a great combination.  I've gotten so many compliments on my hair recently.  The only thing i dislike is the way it feels when you rinse the shampoo out.  It feels like you have chlorine in your hair and tangly.  But i love the smell and what it does to my hair.  Definatly worth the price!!!

I have the type of fine hair that is so touchy and has split ends. Sometimes its the shampoo I am using. I should get a high quality salon based type like this one because it will look like it could have potential. I like it so much I admitted how I payed for at WalMart and even spent more in the first place. My problems with my hair are almost comlpletely solved now. Before I bought this Shampoo I was trying hard not to put my hair through a lot of extra heat and chemicals just to see the health stay like this and I needed something more than that so I felt the change it makes. It might be expensive to a lot of budgets but *I *must of had it for a long time because it can be used very sparingly at the same time so don't waste any of your money and put the shampoo in librally. I have been a bargain shopper for years and years and all I learned was to adjust this and improvise it when everything is allright in the beginning to save some money.

I love the volume this shampoo gives my hair but do not like two other features.  One, it leaves a strange film on my hair and two, it strips the coilor from my hair.  It is supposed to be color safe...doesn't seem that way.

Matrix's Amplify shampoo (and conditioner) is the best shampoo I've tried in many years.  I bought this product on clearance, so I was mostly just trying it out because of the amazing price.  In the past, I've usually stuck with Biolage or Redken shampoos.  However, I was pleasantly surprised when I tried Amplify.  It has a pleasant smell, and it leaves my hair feeling soft and silky.  The best part has been the added shine I've noticed since I've been using it.  My hair's natural beauty has been able to come out.  Not only has my hair been soft and manageable, but it's also had some natural shiny highlights that I didn't see with other shampoos.  I have pretty fine hair, so most products leave it so flat that I have to use a lot of product to volumize it.  Amplify gives my hair extra lift so that I don't have to use as much extra product for that extra volume.  I would recommend this product to anyone with fine, frizzy hair.  I've been extremely pleased with it!

I have been using Matrix Amp Volume for quite some time.  It doesn't overclean and strip the hair.  Its gentle formula is just right for thinner, limp hair that needs a boost.  It smells nice, its not overpowering, and the bottle is good quality.  Its never broken on me like most of the other ones.  Its pricy, but let me tell you one thing, its absolutely worth it.  My mother who doesn't buy anything that's generic purchases it regularly and we give it to each other for Christmas.  That's how good of a product it is.  Its not the priciest brand around either, its median range as far as salon product pricing goes, but as far as quality goes, at least in my opinion, its better than so many others.  It puts Redken to shame!  It works similar to Big, Sexy, Hair, another staple salon product I use, but it comes in bigger sizes and the product lasts longer.  You will be pleasantly surprised at how shiny and beautiful your mane looks.  This product produces results!
