Match.com costs a bit more than you would expect an online service to, but delivers a service almost equal to an office environment proffesional matchmaking company.I have used several and can compare easily.
It is NOT a hookup for one nighters place. Use the XXX rated thinly disguised escort services for that.
The people are real and have gone to some trouble to participate, showing that they are serious.
It is still very easy to dismiss or reject based solely on first impressions which is unfortunate for those who do not communicate in written form all that well.
It is by far the most used and most recognised site giving plenty of matches for just about anybody. The terms of service let you post your profile and wait for someone to initiate contact or get proactive and take control of your level of use. I use it as a backup plan for the other sites I am registered on.
The ease of blocking individuals or restricting searches to clearly defined choices makes it a good option for different people.
