Mary J. Blige - Growing Pains [12/18] Review Summary
Mary J. Blige is a constant on the Hip-Hop and R&B scenes and her musical success underlies her talent and appeal to the masses. Her latest release Growing Pains has thus far garnered rave reviews from the music world and our community of music lovers. One reviewer exclaimed that “With ‘Growing Pains,’ Blige shows that pop songs don't have to be frivolous and hip-hop anthems don't have to be exploitative.” while another stated “Her new CD is great, The songs are fun to listen to, and she sounds great...” Growing Pains doesn’t stray too far what has come before; the hooks are still there as is the angst, there is just a softer edge to her sound and “she shows maturity and diversity in her music.” Regardless of the content and musical voice Growing Pains is a hit with our community of reviewers the common sentiment being that Mary J. has another winner here. When I finally downloaded it from iTunes, I was not at all disappointed, I have barely stopped listening to this cd. This is cd is by far one of Mary's best ever, she shows marturity and diversity in her music, and it is about time she has done so. Just Fine is one of the best songs on the cd, follwed by Mirror, Nowhere Fast And Grown Woman. Yes, check this cd out I feel you will not be…

She really did a great job on this album there is nothing on there I don't like. If I had to pick a least liked track it would be the one with the rapper but that is just because I am not a big fan of rap. This is a well produced album and I would recommend everyone to check it out. —…
