Mary J. Blige - Growing Pains [12/18] Review

I will be the first to say that I am a fan of MJB's music and have been tuned in from the beginning. I always look forward to a new release from her because I am certain to be pleased.....this time out however I was put on the fence with this one. While it is full on Mary it lacks that certain spark that she usually brings to the table. On this current offering she sounds like a woman more on a mission to get another record sale instead of putting her heart and soul into doing what she does best.

Not to be counted out fully, there are times that she shows that she still is the voice of a generation like on the tune Till The Morning.....that one song alone saves the Cd from landing in the bottom two because it is CLASSIC Mary....sass, class, and all!

Although it is not a total loss Mary, next time around, needs to turn the pains into pleasures to deliver a more well rounded less rushed sounding Cd.
