Wonderful resource for the home

5

I have enjoyed reading the Martha Steward magazine for several years. I have found it to be a great resource on many levels. Each month comes packed with many articles of all types to suit anyone's tastes. There are always several delicious recipes to try so your dinners will never be boring. For the home decorator there are beautiful images to inspire your next room make-over. Also includes crafts for the hobbyist and it always includes the list of businesses mentioned in the magazine so you know where to go to get that item you wanted. It is especially fun around the holidays where you can find all the crafts needed to decorate your home with fanciful delights to the eye. Including meals that are special to the holiday such as the best turkey for Thanksgiving, with all the delicious trimmings to go along with it. In addition to the beautiful monthly magazine there are several special edition ones that come out through the year that may be of interest such as the special issue for the Brides.

Fun to read, but not very practical

I have sometimes aspired to be a Martha Stewart, so I thought her magazine would aid me in my quest for domestic perfection. I love the big bright photos, the interesting places she goes, and I really want to have her garden! I tried so hard to make my garden look like hers, but my gardeners never showed up to work, my horticulturist was too busy and the only thing that actually grew well was the weeds. My garden looked more like an overgrown lot than the perfect plot of Martha's. The food presented in the magazine looks great, but I'm not sure how often I would really make some of the recipes. My family will simply not eat things like beet and cauliflower soup with dill. I need to move to New York so I can be hip enough to eat things like that. I decided to go back to school and work on an art degree so I can make some of the craft projects I see each month. I am going to need a better job so I can afford the supplies for them. I saw a beautiful pillow one month that I wanted to make, but the fabric to make it cost over $200 a yard. I guess I will not make that pillow after all. I love the photos of the kitchens and craft areas in the magazine, there are page after page of stylish kitchens to choose from, and I can go to Home Depot to see them too. It would be nice to see some things that Martha doesn't sell though.

Martha Stewart is still the benchmark and reins supreme

Page after page you learn more about house keeping, cooking, home repair and so much more. Keep in mind Martha Stewart is a wise and knowledgeable woman. Martha Stewart is also wise enough to surround herself with other amazing knowledgeable people who are experts in their fields. You can't go wrong with this magazine and I would be surprised if you did not find something to love about each one. I have known men to even read this magazine in waiting rooms. I especially love her gardening advice and her recipes for cooking. I dare you to try this magazine for one month and you will feel that you too can be another Martha Stewart! It's funny how you are used to seeing someone on tv, when I read Martha Stewart's magazine I can actually hear her reading along with me in my head! Than you Martha Stewart for Sharing your love of all things I. And outside the home because my home has gained greatly from it.

Informative

I love reading magazine that are related to interior and DIY. This magazine covers wide variety of topics from cooking, gardening, crafts, interior desiging to fashion trends and women awareness topics. Now that digital copy is available on the tablets its become even more convenient and easy to browse through and archive all favorites. Some of the tips on beautiful simple renovations are very informative and helpful. But what I see this magazine lacks is they dont cover any decorative ideas that one can do for cakes or pastries kind of food. They just cover the basic cooking instructions and not much about decorations or presentation. overall good magazine.

Not for the budget minded

I originally subscribed to this magazine for potential coupon savings. It is very rare that it includes a coupon. It is great for high end decorating, cooking, or entertaining ideas, but not for those of us on a budget. Pretty but not practical.

I love all the creative ideas Martha includes in her magazine! So easy to do, step by step. Did I mention creative!  I would even read Martha Stewart Living Magazine even if I didn't like crafty things!  Great recipe's too, I haven't tried any of the recipe's but they sure look yummy and easy.

Great Resource for Getting Organized

4

I received a complimentary issue of **Living** after entering a contest on their website.  It is a nice-looking magazine that is about the same size as **O** magazine, except that it has about half the pages.  The cover is always pretty.  The January issue has a roasted chicken surrounded by roasted potatoes and sprigs of rosemary.  You can tell right away that it is Martha's magazine.  As soon as I opened to the first page, I saw an article on making your own bird food, along with how to plant a vegetable garden during the winter, and recycling your Christmas tree.  Of course, there are always recipes too. The photographs are always magnificant.  I especially like the food photos.  And to fit in with the New Year's theme, an article on party decorations.  I also noticed an article on fixing a hole in a sweater and how to organize your laundry room. Of course, no magazine these days would be complete without loads of advertising.   It is a necessary evil for keeping the magazine in business. This is a great publication.

Not my favorite

I do like this magazine, but I have had to ask my Mom what some of the ingredients are for some the recipes in this magazine. I wish that there where more recipes for ordinary people like me. I do like the recipes on her website and I wish that she would put some of them in her magazine. I do like all the colors in her magazine. It is always bright and not dull. She has some okay articles in there also. I would recommend her website more than I would recommend her magazine. I probably won't subscribe to her magazine anymore after my subscription runs out since I can get everything off her website for free. I think that her magazine is a bit pricey.

Fantastic reading material and great for the coffee table!

I ask for this magazine subscription every year for Christmas! The articles are great, but the craft ideas and recipes are out of this world! Not only are there everyday recipes and ideas to brighten up your house, but the special times in the year come to life in each magazine! You also gain a lot of useful knowledge whether it be about various types or herbs, to how to refurbish old furniture, to even what to do with old worn photos cards and other keepsakes!

Martha's Living magazine is a wealth of information.

Martha Stewart Living magazine, is wonderfull. It has tons of information to use in every day life, such as crafts for the kids and new organizational techniques to use around home.  I love it due to being a homeschool mom of a kindergartener, it comes in handy with more ideas to use with each and every months.  Of course the recipes are the icing on the cake to try them as well.
