The boys have gone white water rafting, and I wanted a real dinner. So, I pulled out the Marie Callender's Beef Tips with Mushroom Sauce. I'd not tried it before, but I really like most of the Marie Callender meals. This one was no exception.
This frozen dinner is quick and easy. Slit the top over the veggies. Heat about 3 minutes. Stir meat and potatoes. Heat 2 more minutes. Let rest 2 minutes. That's it.
The beef tips are tender enough to cut with a fork which is nice.
Potatoes are good but fall a little short of oven roasted. But, they are along those lines. A little crisper on the outside and soft inside.
The sauce over the meat and potatoes went missing. There was a little but very little. I think I saw one mushroom piece total. I'm not big on mushroom pieces on my meat and potatoes, so that was a bad thing. But, if you like gravy and mushrooms, you will be disappointed.
Green beans were pretty but rather crispy. I'm Southern where everyone cooks the beans forever with fatback. Although I like beans steamed just fine, these were a little on the crisp side of things. The bean contrast on color and taste was nice with the cranberrries.
I'd get this dinner again. It was tasty and filling.
