Marie Antoinette (2006) Review

I was very interested in this movie from the beginning, but when I finally caught it I was quite disappointed. That is not to say that the characters were not exquisite and beautifully filmed, but the final product together was not the action film, romance, or comedy some people expected. It took the long story, kept it long and while the beginning and end I liked, the middle left something to be desired. Most of the movie was about her trying to get pregnant, while that makes us remember how big of deal that was when Marie Antoinette was alive, when you see about an hour of a woman getting dressed, eating, and wanting to have sex so she can have a child and make sure she won't get divorced, you become slightly bored.
And boredom is the primary thing I will remember about this movie. I enjoyed the middle end, because the plot finally continued onto something amusing about her. But, while I would recommend it, I probably won't buy it. Once was enough for me.
