Margaritaville Blender - Frozen Concoction Maker DM1000 —

I received the Frozen Concoction Maker at my bridal shower last week.  Basically, I added it to my registry on a whim and was floored when two of my friends chipped in to buy it for us.  We put this product to the test over the weekend and I have to say that I love it!

The Margaritaville DM1000 Frozen Concoction Maker is different from your basic blender because it actually shaves the ice before adding it to the glass jar for mixing.  The ice reservoir drains away the water created as the ice sits and melts throughout the night so you don't have to worry about winding up with watery drinks.  This machine has a pre-programmed "shave and blend" setting that allows you to just add your liquid ingredients and hit a button to create delicious frozen margaritas, pina coladas, daquiris, etc.  You also can manually control the ice shaving and then blend the mixture for as long as you like.

We used the Margaritaville Frozen Concoction Maker to make several different types of margaritas and some strawberry daquiris.  My fiance was able to figure out how to work the machine without consulting the instruction booklet.   The group consensus was that the drinks were a bit too thin, so he ran the "shave and blend" cycle and then manually shaved and blended in a bit more ice.  That system produced some phenomenal frozen beverages!

At $300, the Margaritaville DM1000 Frozen Concoction Maker isn't exactly a practical addition to the kitchen.  Still, it is a wonderful machine that makes some amazing frozen drinks.  Sure, you could make the same drinks with a regular old blender, but this product is pre-programmed so you set it and forget it, so to speak.  If you are tired of battling with your blender to create smooth and perfectly blended frozen drinks, consider the Margaritaville Frozen Concoction Maker

Yep. That is a high priced drink maker machine, but it does sound like a lot of fun.

WOW! $300 is a lot of money but I sure would love to have one of these! Frozen drinks are my favorite in the summer.
