Unique and interesting site to get information

5

What a fun and unique concept for a travel site. I love the fact that this is a map and you can find exactly where everything is in relation to where you are staying, flying in to, etc. The notes feature is great because you can quickly add an attraction to your "guidebook" which then quickly compiles into your travel guide that you can then easily view online or print and take with you. The only down side is that in a place where there are a lot of attractions at every turn, it can be crowded on the map and a little hard to find the specific attractions you are looking for. For example, when I was using this site to get information on Rome, there were some instances where there were about four attractions right on top of each other unless you were zoomed in all the way. On the plus side, I was able to discover a lot of neat churches, fountains and general historic sites that I had no idea existed before visiting this site. Ease of Use Because this site is so different then most, it can take a bit of getting used to. Specifically, how to save things to your "travel guide" and the best way to zoom on the map to get the information and location you really want. Features This site has features that that no other site does which makes it unique and especially useful.

Great Interactive and user friendly travel tool

5

The Bottom Line: This UK based website is one of the coolest and smartest travel planning website I have ever used. It is highly interactive and allows the community members to add, share, edit information about travel locations. You can create you own map tailored to your tastes and use it before, and while traveling for quick reference. This is definitely a fun site you should check out! Ease of Use Mappedtravel.com is quite user friendly and very intuitive, but if you are confused, not only can you get loads of help thanks to the help forum, but they also have a couple of videos under the Help section that walks you through the various features of the website. It only took me about 15 minutes to grasp the essential tools I needed to create my very own travel map for a future trip to London. Features If you are traveling to a popular destination like London or Paris, you will find maps that are already very complete with sights, lodging, transportation info, restaurants...You can select what you want to keep or delete from your own map, based on your interests so that the only items displayed are the items that interest you the most. You can add personal notes with reminders (like what time your hotel lets you check in, and which metro station to go to to get to a specific destination), all in one place. For those cities that are already completely done they are a great substitute to heavy and cumbersome travel books and maps, and they make fantastic guide books for travel planning.
