My husband and I decided to go see Mama Mia last minute and while I thought the movie Mama Mia was totally cheesey-- I also thought it was super cute. In fact, it made me chuckle out loud a couple of times. You cant possibly go see Mama Mia and be in a bad mood coming out.

However, if you like Pierce Bronsnan and you are hoping for him to be a good singer-- FORGET IT. In my opinon, his singing stinks in Mama Mia. T(but he is a very attractive guy, so I can forgive him) The rest of the Mama Mia cast was really good though-- and quite fun to watch. And, of course, if you like Abba, how could you not like this movie/play?!!

You should see Mama Mia if you are in the mood for some fluff-- not if you are looking for an Academy Award winning performance.

"pure cheese- but it made me smile a lot" That's about all a great comedy/musical needs right? A high enjoyment level! :) Nice write-up.

I saw this movie over the weekend and I couldn't agree with you more. The movie was so cute and the music was great. I actually found myself dancing in my seat. Lol. Pierce def isn't a singer but as you said, he's cute so its OK.

I saw this on stage - it was fun and also a little cheesy, but I love to see musicals on stage so I liked it. I think I might rent this one! Thanks for the review!

Funny, I was sure an ABBA-heavy film would be a real nail-biter, wrought with deep plot twists and dramatic overtones =)
I've been an open ABBA lover/defender for 30 years now, I love how this movie is outing all of the covert fans.

It's ok, I can plug my ears.

I saw it with my friend and literally the entire theater would burst into laughs whenever Pierce Brosnan sang -- we're still laughing about it!

This sounds like a great fun movie -- they don't have to be deathless classics to provide a good time. Thanks for sharing!

My son-in-law asked my husband for permission to marry our daughter the night Rob took the four of us out to see the play. I think I'd like this because I loved th play.

I can't bear to watch Meryl Streep in anything anymore. This looks like a goofy movie but I actually do like Abba's music. And it would be fun to hear Pierce Bronson sing. Ha!
