Majestic Athletic New York Yankees Derek Jeter Replica Road Jersey Review

This is a great jersey for Jeter fans but I prefer the pinstriped home style over the grey road one. Still, an excellently made jersey.

The Jersey

The Majestic Athletic New York Yankees Derek Jeter Replica Road Jersey is made in the typical Yankees road colors - grey and dark blue. This one buttons up with a rounded bottom and a stripe around each sleeve. The words "New York" are boldly on the front and "Jeter 2" are on the back.

The jersey is 100% polyester which means it doesn't wrinkle or shrink at all but it does snag. The one thing I don't like about this jersey is that, if I come up against something rough, it could pull or snag a bit. It's not lined so it is a tad scratchy until the first washing. Then it is roomy and comfortable.

This jersey comes in sizes Medium to XX-Large. I have a Medium but really need a small which, apparently, isn't made in this style.

My Use

This was a gift from someone who knew my husband and I were Yankee fans and favored Derek Jeter. I like him but not to the point of wearing his name on my back but Jeter is a better name than many others! (He's adorable and, oh yes, a good player too.)

The number two is my favorite and I am proud to wear the words New York across my chest since I am a born and bred New Yorker and have lived in the state all my life. However, if I had a choice, I would have gotten the at home pinstriped jersey. The white and blue pinstripes are so much cooler than dull grey.

Washing and drying is a breeze. It goes in the washer and dryer and comes out totally unwrinkled and looking like new.

I did manage to gain a snag when I wore it once at our marina where there are a lot of things that could pull and scratch at my clothing but it didn't unravel the jersey or cause a hole. I pulled the thread back in and it is virtually impossible to see.

In all, this made in the USA jersey is high quality and a nice way to support your favorite team and player. But it's pricey. I saw it online for $89.99. Yikes.

My Viewpoint

This is a very well made jersey with embroidered lettering, not glued on stuff. The letters and number won't curl even after several washings and dryings.

I wish it were pinstriped but I still have the pride and the power with this jersey. I have to go with 4 stars. It's very well made but the polyester is somewhat prone to snagging so, if you but this or one like this, watch out for that and you will get years of wear from the jersey.
