My oldest son hates change - of any kind. He even noticed when I moved the couch about a foot. He was not happy.
Oldest son's room was looking bad. The paint had faded. The curtains looked shabby.
Since my kid is out of town this week, it seemed a good idea to tackle his room. He adjusts better if he does not have to see the transformation stage.
I repainted his room in blue. It had been blue, but it didn't really look blue anymore.
I bought some blue curtains. They seemed to match in the pack. But, when I put them up, the light made them look more purple than blue. I looked at those a couple of days and returned them.
On the next trip I found Mainstays.
There are several styles and colors in Mainstays. They are all solid colored and are made of a woven fabric that is sturdy.
Since blue had been hard to match before and since the trim was beige, I decided to go with a color called Bennett. That's a dark beige to light brown color. Also, the couch and chair in the room is in brown and beige. This seemed to help tie everything together better.
The size I got was 80 W by 63 L. The shorter ones would not quite have dropped below the window frame at the bottom.
The pack comes with 2 panels - one for each side of the window. And, there are tiebacks.
The cost is around $15.
The quality of the curtains is excellent. The material feels great. The sewing is solid. The tops gather as they should. The tiebacks hang neatly.
I'd definately consider this brand again. They aren't expensive. They look good. They are easy to match with the solid colors.
I hope my son won't be too tramatized with his painted room and new curtains. I think he'll like the room when he gets over the shock. It bascially looks the same but clean and fresh.
Does anyone else have a kid who absolutely hates change?
