Mainstays 20 Oz. Jar Candles Review

When I am sitting home relaxing in the den or even in my office at home, I love to light a scented candle.  It just helps me to settle down and really relax.  After a day at work, it's really good to get in your own environment and unwind.  Mainstays 20 oz. Candles in a Jar is an easy way to get your home environment in that "mood" for you.

These candles come in many different scents.  Mainstays 20 oz. Candles in a Jar retail for around $6.99 if I remember correctly.  They come in a jar with a lid that you can put back on the top of the candle when not lit.  The jar is clear except for the front where you will find the label.

Some of the scents the Mainstays 20 oz. Candles in a Jar comes in are:  Vanilla, Honeysuckle, Pine, Cranberry Mandarin, Hazelnut Cream, Linen, Pumpkin, Cider, Apple Pie, Orange Grove and many more!  In case you are wondering, these candles are available at Walmart.

These candles are very inexpensive when compared to other scented candles such as Yankee Candles, which can get quite costly when you buy more than one at a time.  The scents are comparable.  Yankee scents are a bit more defined in my opinion, but does paying $10-15 more for a candle justify a little more scent?  Not always!

The main downfall about the Mainstays 20 oz. Candles in a Jar is that they do not blow out quickly and the wick does a fine job of smoking.  This is not cool if you are entertaining guests.  So plan ahead and light the candles right before guests arrive!

Recommendation

I especially love using scented candles for holidays.  Pumpkin or Cranberry is perfect for Thanksgiving and Pine or Garland-like scents are my favorite for Christmas.  If you want to save a few bucks on candles, give Mainstays 20 oz. Candles in a Jar a try!
