Most HelpfulOver-priced, poorly run, rude staff, and food is just ok. We visited the Mai Kai while in Ft. Lauderdale area for the Thanksgiving holiday. It took 90 minutes to get our main course. Additionally, the food sat on the serving tray for 7 minutes before it was actually delivered to our table and it was cold! We have gone to this restaurant for several years now and after the last two experiences, we will not be returning.
If you've never been to the Mai-Kai, you're cheating yourself of one of the most unique dining experiences to be had in North America. Go now, while this pre-Disney piece of roadside Floridiana is still around to appreciate. 75 delicious entrees; 50 incomparable cocktails; exotic decor; a Polynesian floor show, vintage Tiki decor and gorgeous wahines make Hawaii practically irrelevant.
