The quality is poor

Comments about Magnavox - DVD Recorder:

The timer function on the DVD recorder malfuntioned after 90 days. When returned to Magnavox, they sent it back with the same problem.   I decided that it was just too much of a hassle so I trashed the unit.  I will never buy another Magnavox product.

The Magnavox MWR10D6 DVD Recorder has multiple problems.

Comments about Magnavox - DVD Recorder:

I  have been very disappointed in this DVD recorder.  A list of the problems I have had follows:

           1. The date and time will change without any warning.  I'll have set the time/date, and when I check my recordings, the time/date will be completely wrong.  I recorded a show on March 11, 2010 at 8:00, and the recording showed that it recorded September 5, 2009.  However, it was the show I wanted recorded.

           2. If I am recording a show that goes past midnight, at midnight the channel will change automatically and start recording from the new channel.  Example:  Nightline on ABC will record, then at midnight TruTv will be recorded.  You can actually see the flash on the recording from when the channel changes.

            3.  If I set the time recorder to record for mutiple hours, the recording never takes place.  Example:  I'll want to record mutiple hours of Law and Order which begins at 3:00 and ends at 6:00.  I'll start the recording at 3:00 and put the counter for 3 hours.  The DVD records shows it is recording for those three hours, but when I check the menu for recorded shows, there is no recording.

            4. When I set the time for shows to be recorded for a certain time frame, the DVD recorder does not record them.  Often the recorder just turns itself off completely at the starting time.

            5.  When I try to format new discs, often the screen reads "Error: can not record on this disc."  If I use them on other DVD recorders, they work fine.
