The ads don't tell you it doesn't work with satellite internet.

unlimited calling, cheap, free voicemail, no monthly fee, 5 yrs. of long distance for about $100., Nice to have a second phone #., call waiting, caller ID, portable, easily able to get voice messages

Cons

doesn't work in internet outage, doesn't work when computer is turned off, did not have number in my area, misleading advertising

MagicJack VOIP Service —

The concept of the Magic Jack is great, but the ads make it sound like anyone with a computer can use one. After I got mine, I went online to set it up. First problem came up when I was supposed to pick the area code. I couldn't figure out why my area code wasn't one of the choices. When I ran into this problem, I went to customer service and read all the FAQ's. It said my area code would be available in 30 days. That's where I found out it doesn't work with satellite internet. So I found a customer service rep to help me with getting an RMA so I can get my money back. He was very helpful and kind. I just had to fill out a short form online, then print it and got my RMA. The Magic Jack will be on it's way back tomorrow. I would recommend this to anyone with true high-speed internet. Can you imagine paying just $106. upfront for 5 years of unlimited long distance?
