I had a Magic Chef brand microwave oven right before I bought this one. I had to buy a new one because my first microwave quit working after microwaving some frozen vegetables (they were specifically meant for microwave preparation, and I followed the directions exactly on the box for cooking in the microwave). I thought this was a fluke and found another Magic Chef brand microwave oven for a great sale price. Since I was happy with how the first one operated, up until it's demise of course, I bought it. First of all, this microwave oven performed very well in general while I had it. But it did experience a couple of mishaps: on two different occasions, all of the power on it went out while it was operating for no apparent. Eventually, it blinked back on. After about a year of using it, it began making an extremely loud high-pitched squeal during operation. It was so bad that my cats were going wild whenever it was turned on. I knew it was on its way out. It died within a couple weeks of the onset of the squealing noise when I attempted to microwave frozen vegetables again. No other brand- in my experience -has reacted negatively to microwaveable vegetables. I only had it for little more than a year. I would not recommend this. It was good for the majority of the time I had it, but I did not have it for very long, and it did give me a few operating issues during that time. I currently have a Panasonic microwave, and it is great. Performance It was great for the majority of the time I had it, except for the last couple weeks of use before it died (high-pitched squeal), and a couple different times where it completely powered down. Settings/Features It had all the options that I needed. Ease of Cleaning I could remove the glass plate, and clean it as needed.
