We bought the original Magic Bullet because my husband wanted to grind up mincemeat from the jar.  It is the perfect size for small jobs.  He uses it to scramble eggs and I've chopped cheese.  My favorite use is to grind coffee beans.  The coarse grind makes a perfect cup of coffee in my drip coffee maker.

The motor smells hot when you use it, but I have a hand mixer that I've owned for nearly 50 years which works fine despite the same odor.  It is designed to run for about 10 seconds at a time which is fine for every job we've tried.  The newer one is larger - which wouldn't be good for our uses - and has a stronger motor.

Easy to clean and easy to store.  It comes with two chopping/blending blades and two containers.  There are also four mugs with colored rings to differentiate them at a party.  Just pop in the food, screw on the blade, put the container on the blender base and press down.  You can also twist and lock the container if you want to run it longer.  You can put the containers into the microwave to make cheese sauce, etc. out of the items you have ground up.  Everything but the base goes right into the dishwasher. Expensive, but worth every penny.
