While travelling from NJ to Manhattan or queens to Manhattan, it insists on routing through downtown manhattan no matter where you are... even if next to the GWB and going into NJ. unreliable in this area.
Otherwise is handy and saves me when I am lost!

I bought this GPS to help me when I was a traveling saleswoman. Definitely MUCH better than online maps and directions printout! The GPS is easy to use and fits perfectly on my dashboard. It's big enough for me to properly see where I'm going, but not too big that it obstructs my view of the road.

The voice commands are great, it helps me pay more attention to when I should start getting back in the right lane on the highway before it's too late. The only thing is that at times, the voice commands and screen instructions do not match the actual map instruction. For example, I see the road highlighted...

We  got this GPS as a gift for Christmas.  After a long road trip of using an Atlas and the GPS on our iPhones, we decided that we needed a real GPS for the car.  This was particularly true when we were driving through areas that did not have cell service and being in the middle of no where with no land marks and we wanted to know how far we were from our next destination.

It does not seem to be able to locate us if we are in a building (like when we first opened it we were in the house, or in a parking garage) and since we park in the garage at night we have to remember to stop the car long...

I bought this Magellan product to replace my other one, on which the power supply died after 92 days -- of course it's a 90 day warranty, and it would cost $250.00 to fix it - or buy a new one for $300.  So, I bought the new one.  I'm almost wishing I'd fixed the older version.  I went on a trip to North Carolina, and it couldn't take me the last 4 miles to my destination.  It had me driving up and down the same Hwy for 45 minutes continuouslly recalculating.  The "new" roads that Magellan told me they weren't equipped to deal with were more than 5 years old.  It had me "flying" into space... review »

Simply put, this GPS is AMAZING! I love this thing. I have gotten my moneys worth 10 times over. It is a reat gift for someone as it is pretty expensive. It actually gives you directions, phone numbers, and helps when you need it the most.

I travel solo for a living so you can imagine how helpful this has been for me. I cannot believe I waited so long to finally ask for one.

One negative point that you would never think of is that it loses satellite reception in the city. I recently traveled to L.A. and Chicago. Living in Florida, you don't have those skyscrapers and even being near...

I really like this GPS, especially it's portability. It gives audible turn by turn directions and is very easy to read in different lighting. However, two big draw backs. 1. When you turn it on, it sometimes "remembers" it's last location and tries to give you directions from there. It corrects itself, but sometimes might take up to 15 minutes to do so. Which really stinks if you're in a hurry. 2. I bought it a year ago and it's maps were already about a year out of date in my area (Phoenix). I went to go update it and it was $80!!! About 2/3 what I paid for it. So, that means I'm just going to...

This Magellan GPS is a big improvement over the earlier Magellans.  One thing I like is the voice instructions.  When I am driving, I can't always look down at the GPS screen so I need to have audible instructions.  Audible tones are fine but if there is conversation going on or musci playing, they cannot always be heard so again, the audible instructions and tones are an absolute must.  You can also choose to not have any audible tones and no voice.  You can adjust the volume to your needs, too.

It is also extremely easy to use.  Anyone can start using it out of the box, without having to...

We own the Magellan Roadmate 2000 and it has been a life saver to us. When we travel we just put in the places where we are headed and it takes us there using one of four means. You can select, fastest time, shortest distance, lease use of freeways, and most use of freeways. It has come in real handy when our freeways have detours or wrecks and yet we still  need to reach our scheduled appointment on time. So the passenger just reprograms the Magellan to use lease use of freeways and it will get us off the freeway and use the side streets.

When I first purchased my Magellan I did'nt know if I'd like it or not. I previously owned a TomTom that I gave to my son because I did'nt like the size, but with the Magellan it fits perfectly in the palm of your hand and is very easy to use. Has more information than some other GPS and has never steered me wrong. It got me from home to Seattle,WA in record time bypassing all route detours and traffic jams, has all the latest points of interest and I could'nt ask for more.

We bought this product for a road trip to ct. it was very accurate.  We did get lost coming home, only because we followed directions from a friend, instead of the GPS or SALLY as we call her.  Sally finally did get us home, when we put our trust in her.  The only things we dont like about it is she doesnt pick up on construction work and we have had a few address that it will not take.  It is very easy to operate.

Sooo very easy to use and understand. I have used one is the past that after messing with it trying to up in my destination, I ended up with a big headache, frustrated and no directions. This one is simple and a delight. The voice makes driving safer, no need to look down at a map or directions, just listen for the voice and you are given advance notice of your next turn giving you plenty of time to change lanes etc.

I bought this mainly to travel to Orlando, FL to see my nephew down there and his address won't show at all.  I couldn't put his specific physical address to add to my address book.  I am really disappointed.  There's also my cousin's address in Las Vegas, NV and I couldn't add it to my address book, either.

I love my Magellan Roadmate. It is eay to use and its updateable. Those are two things that I wanted for sure when I got it. My husband actually bought it for me b/c he says that I am "forever lost" and him being the techis that he is found this one to be the best value for the features it offers and for the software that it has.

My Mom is 66 years old.  I have let her use my Roadmate 3000T in the pasat ut the buttons gave her a hard time.  She loves the 2000.  It is easy to use, the battery lasts about 4 hours without recharging and it lightweight.  You give up the extensive POI and Trafic Kit options but frankly I never use those anyway.
