Magellan - Road Mate 1200 GPS Device Review

I am one of those guys who loves toys and I have a lot of them.  One of the best toys I have purchased in recent months was my Magellan 1200 Global Positioning System.  As soon as I purchased it I tried out in the city where I live to a known location that I regularly travel.  At first I was skeptical because it was sending me in a direction I would not have taken.  However, it got me there faster than I normall.  I particularly like the feature that allows yopu to sellect the fastest route, the shortest route and the route with the least use of freeways.  I live in Milwaukee Wisconsin and I programed my unit to take me to Chicago without using freeways.  I took an hour longer, but my wife and I had a nice liesurely scenic drive without getting on the freeway and not getting on each others nerves.  The unit is easy to use and the voice directions are clear and do not sound mechanical at all.  I do a lot of cross country driving to places I have never been before.  I am looking forward to using this unit on those trips.  I feel confident that I'll never get lost again.  The only negative I found is that sometimes you have to hit a letter or number on the touch pad a few times for it register.
