The Maestro 4000 Portable Auto Navigation System from Magellan delivers a brilliant combination of elegant design and ease of use, plus the essential features that users expect. It features an intuitive User Interface that guides drivers to any destination via voice and on-screen prompts. It incorporates SmartDetour that is designed to prompt you to route around heavy or stopped traffic. It also features QuickSpell, that intelligently sorts, searches and checks spelling for rapid address entries with minimal keystrokes. Its advanced address entry process enables user to enter street name or direction and search for up to 1.6 Million POIs (Points of Interest), such as restaurants, hotels, airports, gas stations, and more. It is designed for the Business Mobile user who requires a thin/stylish industrial design and streamlined user interface
Besides the basic GPS annemities, Magellan has adapted the focus of driving to the world of technology with an easy-to-use, self reliable system that doesn't guess on certain roadways. The bigges plus about this is that the exterior is tough and shows a lot of use when making long trips. I have yet to make a wrong turn, but felt like testing it before I decided to drive to San Diego for a wedding. Sure enough, it finds the quickest route to get you back on track without bringing you down some nasty road or back ally.
The only problem i have found with this device is that it takes more than a few minutes to pick up a signal, meaning if i have to rush out the door and have no idea where i am going, i have to wait a few minutes before i can make a decision. BUT, again, the device is very adaptable, and after thinking about it, i can get on any road, major or minor, and it allows easy access to my destination without confusing me with long words like "constantine" or "addirondack". I have found much desire in the aptitude of this original peice of machine bound only by the user who represses it.
And it smells GREAT!
