Magellan - Maestro 4000 GPS Navigation System —

The Magellan - Maestro 4000 GPS Navigation System is a global positioning system that usually does a very good job.  It is fairly easy to program the address that you wish to travel to into the device.  The digital display of the words on the monitor can be read clearly.  These are good features for such a device to have.

However, Magellan - Maestro 4000 GPS Navigation System is not perfect.  There have been times when the GPS has taken me to places by a certain series of directions.  These directions are supposed to be the shortest route.  However, I know for a fact that the route is not the shortest route, either by time or by miles.

And, while I know that this type of mistake doesn't happen all the time(thank goodness), it has happened on several occasions.  Of course, all of these occasions were ones that I really couldn't afford to be late at all.

I can think of one case in which the GPS indicated to go left onto Rt. 35, in a southernly direction.  The only problem with that, in order to get back to my home, I had to travel in a northernly direction.

So, just be aware that no GPS usit is foolproof.
