I purchased the maclaren volo in 2006.  It is a nice, light little stroller but, in my opinion, not appreciably different than any other umbrella stroller on the market.  It folds and unfolds easily, it is small and light.  It is easy to manuver. I LOVE this stroller!!  I will start off by saying I am a BIG fan of Maclaren strollers. You just can't beat them for the durability you get for the price. I have 5 children so I have had my fair share of strollers. I have never been a fan of the plastic *raco type strollers as they are not well made and fall apart easily. Mac strollers are not like that at all!!  The volo is definetly one of my favorites. It is incredibly light weight, folds down to nothing at the drop of a hat and can be slung over your shoulder to get on buses and things at amusement parks. We purchased a pink Maclaren volo stroller for our baby and have loved it!  It is easy to fold up, it is extremely light weight and has a large sun shade.  The 5-point harness is easy to use and the mesh seat keeps baby cool.  The only negative about the stroller is that the back sits pretty straight and doesn't have a way to recline which isn't good for a smaller baby.  But all in all, this is a terrific umbrella stroller.

We were on a quest for a lightweight stroller for our big 3 year old for a recent trip to Disney.  Anyone who has gone knows the nightmare of trying to fold up a huge stroller on the buses to the parks.  Anyone who has gone also knows that even a three year old needs a stroller in Disney.  So we needed to find one that would fit a bigger three year - almost 40 pounds.  This Maclaren is AWESOME!  The US version (there is apparently a different type sold in the UK) is built to hold up to 45-50 pounds...so we were in luck.  It only weighs 6 pounds and is so lightweight, it even comes with a... review »

The Maclaren Volo is a fabulous stoller.  It is one of the lightest strollers on the market, it folds easily (you may want to practice a few times before you are trying to use it in high pressure situations like getting on a bus with an infant.)  It doesn't recline fully but aside from a very young infant this isn't usually an issue.  This stroller will definitely keep up with an active life, it doesn't do great on grass or trails but for a quick stroll through the park it is great.  What it really does best though is that constant day-to-day stuff, sidewalks, shopping, walking to and from... review »

This stroller is an absolute blessing!  The Maclaren Volvo was perfect for our Disny vacation.. lightweight, folds up small, and even has a handle!  Sure it is a little more expensive than your average umbrella stroller, but I assure you itis worth the cost bc of the durablity lightweight qualities!!

This stroller is perfect for big city living. I live in New York and it's great to have a light, sturdy stroller that's easy to get up and down subway stairs and in and out of taxis.

Buy this stroller if you want something that lasts.


I had a cheap $20 umbrella stroller that I only used for 3 months that started to have problems. Also the handles were too low. I did a lot of research and also noticed the Maclarens in our neighborhood. It's a bit expensive, but well worth the cost.

Love this stroller -- so easy to fold up and maneuver

I love this stroller.  I can get it out of the trunk and opened up with one hand -- very important since my son will take off the second I put him down!  I like the mesh material, as it seems to keep him cool on hot days.  I wish it reclined, as he can't fall asleep in it, and the canopy thing gets filthy when I fold it up with the canopy still attached.  But, overall, this stroller is well worth the high price tag.  Plus, it's chic-looking :)

My son absolutely adores this stroller!! He hated the travel system stroller he had, he would never last more than a few minutes in it.  With the Maclaren it seems like he would sit in it forever.  I love how easy it opens and closes.  We bought it because we were going on a trip and would be taking this through the airport.  The attached carrying strap and it being so lightweight make it perfect for travelling!

Great stroller for parents over 5'6. Silver color canopy does dirty easily - mainly from the wheels when it is folded after a trip. Very sturdy. Tall handles. Lightweight. Storage basket good for small objects or jackets. Best for taller babies that sit up well - over 1 year.

This stroller is very easy to handle. Great to travel with. Easy to fold. Does not take up mush space at all. Lightweight travel handle is one of the best features.You can carry the sroller on your shoulder and hold baby at the same time. Great product for the money.

Wow, what a difference it made when I first bought the Maclaren Volo.  I had been searching for a lighweight umbrella stroller for awhile after my old stroller got too old to use.  I was hesitant to pay so much for "just an umbrella stroller", but when I gave it a test drive, it rode so much smoother than my old Graco umbrella stroller.  My wrists were not sore anymore.  I could turn corners and maneuver through malls with great ease.  I was in stroller heaven.  The Maclaren Volo is extremely lightweight made out of alloy aluminum and engineered well.  It took me awhile to figure out how...

Perfect travel stroller; lightweight, shady and portable

We've used the McClaren Volo stroller on subways, at airports, at the zoo, in the neighborhood, at Sea World, shopping etc. 

When buying this I wanted i) a canopy ii) big enough to last a few years for a tall toddler and preschooler iii) undercarriage storage iv) lightweight v) easily and compactly collapsed. Although the most expensive umbrella stroller at Target, it is the very best value. 

It is the most practical stroller we have and we are so glad we got it instead of the cheap alternatives that are a fifth of the price. I can collapse it and open it with one hand and one foot then lift...

I LOVE my Maclaren Volo Stroller!  Yes, it is pricey for an umbrella stroller but it is such a great investment!  I use it all the time.  This stroller is high quality and durable and will last a long time.  It is so lightweight and easy to use.  I got one of these after my baby outgrew his infant car seat and I didn't want to keep using my travel system stroller all the time because it was so big and bulky.  I have used this stroller several times while flying and it is so easy to fold up one handed (I did it by myself, while holding a baby in the security line!).  Even though it's lightweight,...

Nothing beats a walk in the park on a sunny day, but sometimes it's more of a hassle than fun to take a baby or toddler along, too. The best stroller makes or breaks the entire walk.
