When I first started using computers, I was all about PCs. I was under the impression that Mac were only for super-nerdy-computer-savvy professionals with too much money. When I started going to film school, I was required to buy a Mac. I'll be honest, I was not happy! BUT, Mac has WON ME OVER.
Recently, I upgraded to the MacBook Pro 15". This is the best computer I've had yet, and I have three in my apartment right now. It's incredibly user friendly, so me being not terribly tech-smart, I can navigate and operate with ease. There are also lots of neat little things, like keyboard shortcuts, scrolling/zooming/etc on the trackpad. The built in camera is great for chats with my friends and family. The screen is amazing, too - I rarely watch movies on my TV now, because it just looks so much better on my computer.
It is a great computer for average everyday use, but I also use it for multiple programs that just don't work right on my PCs. I have Adobe Creative Suite 4 and Mac makes it wonderful to use. Final Cut and Final Draft are also wonderful on this system. Most importantly, when I'm transferring files from computer to computer, my MacBook Pro can ALWAYS figure it out. There is nothing more frustrating then a messed up file format not being read because this or that isn't compatible. I have yet to find something that my Mac doesn't get.
So now I've realized, either I'm a super-nerdy-computer-savvy type, or Macs are just great for everyone.
