After our HP laptop unexpectedly crashed, we went looking for a good deal on a laptop to replace it. My husband teaches online, so it was necessary to replace it quickly and at a good price. After pricing several popular brands and models, we stumbled upon MSI. I had never heard of MSI, and I was a little aprehensive at first because of this. It had all of the specs I was looking for though, so I kept learning more about it out of curiousity. I was also told that many of the popular brands actually use MSI parts because they are very well made. That made me more confident in my purchase. I love when I find a product that is less expensive because it is a less popluar brand, but there is no sacrifice on quality or performance. We saved so much money on this laptop! We do really like it, and it has been a great computer for us. The mouse clicker is a little loud, but you don't have to use it. You can tap the top of the pad instead, and it is silent. I recommend this laptop. Don't be afraid of the lesser-known brand. MSI A5000 is a great laptop!

i was extremely ahppy with this laptop at first with the windows 7 and the nice webcam software that could have you take pictures, record, and add nice funy affects. hehe. well i really did like that about this msi laptop. aftger a while the laptop would start to have many over heating problems, so i cleaned it out and it made it a wee bit better. i would always have the quote blue screen of death and i did not know whether or not it was because the laptop or my neglect. then now i am typing on it but i have to have it runnign on a charger twenty four seven because the laptop had a battery shortage for some odd reason so now whenver i use it i have to have it ona a charger. if i dont have it on a charge it will last for aobut ten minutes then go dead. completely dead. so i wouldnt exasctly recommend this laptop to a friend. my friend actually has the same laptop and she has the same prblems.

I have the A4000 version of this same line of computers.  Only difference is the numberpad is not on the keyboard and the screen is 14" instead of 15.6".  Other than that, they are identical internals and specs.  I bought the A4000 and an ASUS low power laptop (one of the ones that is sized almost like a netbook but with more power) at the same time and ended up keeping the MSI because it was a little larger and felt better built for the price.  Very quick, screen is nice, keyboard is nice, it is a good looking computer.  But I had problems with it.  First the wireless card went out in it.  The nicest thing about it is that it has a 3 year warranty!!  You jsut get online and sent an email to them and they respond with a page that you comment back and forth on with the techs.  That is SUPER easy.   Anyway, they ended up sending me a replacment wireless nic to install in the pc because I guess they could tell I knew what I was doing.  that fixed that issue.  Now, I have screen flickering and have to put a big binder clip on the corner of the monitor to get the screen to work.  It is just OK now because of these hardware issues.

The MSI A5000 notebook PC is much cheaper than other major laptop brands and is comparable to them in terms of performance. This laptop has the Windows 7 OS and does not come with too much uselss preloaded software that you will just end up removing. The display provides good picture quality and is more than adequate for watching movies and other stuff. This laptop can also be used to play games if top of the line graphics are not a necessity. The keyboard is also very solid and easy to use. The numpad, which many laptops do not have, is also very useful. I did not have any problems with the touchpad being too sensitive. This laptop could be built more sturdily as the plastic casing sometimes feels as it is bending under pressure. For example, while typing, the plastic under my wrists flexes. Also, the audio when using headphones is not of very high quality and there is some background noise that cannot be eliminated. Overall, this is a pretty good laptop that runs fairly smoothly.

We got an incredible deal on our MSi A5000 Notebook PC.  Honestly, for as little as we paid, and the fact I had never heard of MSi, I wasn't expecting too much.  I have to say, I have been pleasantly surprised.  It's a nice machine.  It's much faster than I thought it would be.  The pentium processor is definitely doing its job.  My husband likes to play online games, and he hasn't had any trouble with lagging or freezing.  Plus, the graphics looks great with the HD monitor.  The computer came with Windows 7 and a webcam, so there was two more things I didn't have to buy.  We used the webcam on Christmas to talk to my parents, and it worked perfectly.  If you are looking for a new computer and you are on a budget, you should consider the MSi.  The only issue I have had is the mouse key seems to be sticking.  For the price, I am living with it.  All in all, I would definitely recommend this machine,
