The MKT Trail starts in Columbia, MO and connects to trail that stretch out for miles. It is a well-maintained and pleasant trail. I am a marathon runner, and enjoy the peaceful scenery for both long and short runs. It is a dirt/gravel trail which runs mainly through wooded or farm areas. The trail is hardly ever crowded, and there are many places to rest or have a picnic.

At most of the 5 Columbia access points the city maintains bathrooms and water fountains which are available year-round.

However, after the city trail connects with the county trail no bathroom or water is available...

great idea to put a review on the MKT. i love this place for walking, jogging, bicycling. it is quiet, level, shaded in a lot of areas. keep your eyes open for the occasional snakes going across the path. in the evening (and probably early morning) you can see deer grazing in the meadows.
