MAC mascara had been getting a bad evaluation from friends of mine for so long that I avoided them because I have problems with many mascaras. One of the first mascaras I tried from MAC was MAC Pro Longlash, however. My results were a pleasant surprise! Long lashes with superb definition that lasted without flaking or smearing was just what I was hoping for and this mascara did not disappoint. I was even more excited to find out that MAC has an uncolored version of this mascara called MAC Lash Mix which comes in a tiny tipped tube. You put it on a mascara wand and you can put any color pigment on the mascara and you have colored mascara. I use powdered eyeshadow and the result is wonderful. Performance MAC Pro Longlash is a wonderful mascara that does not smear or flake even when my eyes water a lot. I have a lot of difficulty with eyes itching or burning when I wear many different mascaras, but this mascara (along with most of MAC mascaras) does not irritate my eyes at all. I have found both the dark mascara and the color free Lash Mix work beautifully. My lashes look really nice. I have a hard time understanding why MAC mascara gets such a bad review from so many people. For me this mascara is just another MAC mascara that pleasantly surprises me with how good it is! It also removes nicely with my usual facial cleanser. Ease of Application Both the mascara in the tube and the Lash Mix (colorless version of Pro Longlash) are easy to use. For the Black version, the brush is not overly huge or hard to use at all. The color free tube version is also easy- I put a narrow line of mascara mix on my clean mascara brush. I sprinkle the color of pigment that I want on the mascara line and then apply to brows or lashes. The result is any color mascara I want and no product going to waste. I wash the mascara spoolie brush and it is ready to use later with a different color.

I'm such a huge fan of any MAC product, and I especially love their eye products... When I was introduced to their mascara, I knew immediately that I would become a diehard fan! First of all, its MAC. Quality. What more can I say? Second, It made my lashes look fantastic! The price is unbeatable... only barely more than drug store brands, but so much better. The actual mascara doesn't dry out as quickly and, even though I know you're supposed to replace your mascara more frequently, my tube has lasted for quite awhile. Another issue that I tend to have with mascaras is itchy eyelids. I don't know if I'm allergic or just sensitive, but my eyes itch like crazy when I have mascara on. But, with this product, my eyes feel great. No itching! I don't know how they do it, but my lashes feel like there's nothing on them. Overall, super product that I would recommend (or buy as a gift) for any of my friends and family!

I tried this product on a whim at a MAC counter and almost immediately my lashes looked twice as long, almost as if I had fake eyelashes on. Sometimes my mascara will flake into my eyes so I walked around the mall to see if this would flake and I was impressed to find out that it didn't.  At the end of my shopping trip, I returned to the MAC counter and I bought the mascara. My only issue is that it does go on a little thick so I do use a brush to separate my lashes and to thin the mascara a bit so it doesn't look clumpy. But if you add a little more to the outer edges of your lashes it makes a really nice effect that makes your eyes really pop and stand out.  I've tried a lot of expensive mascaras lately, Estee Lauder, Clinique, and Lancome, and this one is the only one that seems to do what it says it is supposed to do.  For once there was truth in advertising! What an amazing and wonderful product.
