MAC Plush Lash Mascara —
When I got MAC PLUSHLASH MASCARA for a Christmas present, I was really excited. After all of the mascaras on the market that I have tried, MAC continues to win my tests hands down in performance.I went right to work using my MAC PLUSHLASH MASCARA expecting.......anything but what I got= clumpy, smooshy, haphazard lashes that looked like they were sent express from a gunk factory.
I tried and tried to get this stuff to work, but it just would not work.
I felt badly because the friend who sent it to me did it from her heart and I did not want to admit failure.
Finally not too long ago, someone posted on a makeup board how to use this mascara. Apparently there is a special technique to using this brush. I followed the instructions and BEHOLD! My gunkishness turned to high fashion glamour!!!
WHAT IS PLUSHLASH MASCARA LIKE?
MAC PLUSHLASH MASCARA is in a black tube with a rubbery finish on it. The tube is in a round shape. The brush is a bizarre flat shape- long bristles on two sides and short very stubby bristles on the other two sides.
There is no obvious fragrance in the mascara and it comes in PLUSH BLACK and BROWNETTE.
HOW DO YOU APPLY THIS STUFF?
THe secret to MAC PLUSHLASH is to apply the mascara with the flat side and then once the mascara is applied, you carefully brush it out with the long side of the brush.
That is all there is to it, but it really works.
WHAT DOES MAC PLUSHLASH DO FOR LASHES?
From my experience, MAC PLUSHLASH makes lashes fuller, longer, and more spiky than most mascaras. They definitely do look high fashion and very nice if you work with it carefully to avoid globbing.
HOW WELL DOES IT STAY ON?
MAC PLUSHLASH stays on very well. It does not flake, smear, or come off easily if you have watery eyes. It is not waterproof, but it does not dissolve that easily. I find that taking it off at night is a little more difficult than something like MAYBELLINE GREAT LASH. It comes off with my usual makeup removing cleanser, however, with a little more effort than many other mascaras, but nothing terrible.
I highly recommend this mascara if you like dramatic lashes, but it might take a little while to get the hang of using it.
FINAL COMMENTS
I turned out to love MAC PLUSHLASH. It is really nice dramatic mascara and I find myself reaching for it more often than my other mascaras. It stays on well, causes no irritation and has high performance too.
At $11 a tube, it is close to the price of drugstore mascara, and I think worth the extra few dollars and effort it takes to get it.
