MAC It's A Miracle Mineralize Eye Shadow MAC Holiday Review

One of the things that I have enjoyed about the MAC company is that they put out something that they have referred to as MINERALIZE products.  These are domed cakes of baked mineral containing eyeshadow or other products which give a different sort of finish than the traditional products that MAC has put out.

The MINERALIZE eyeshadows have been very beautiful in the past, despite them having to be used wet to get any kind of good performance out of them.

This year, MAC has released some very pretty MINERALIZE EYE SHADOWS for HOLIDAY 2009 (Magic Mischief and Mirth I think it is called).  This time, they have changed the texture to be much more user friendly.

WHAT IS IT'S A MIRACLE MINERALIZE EYESHADOW LIKE?

IT'S A MIRACLE MINERALIZE EYE SHADOW is a beautiful burgundy color eye shadow.  The texture is very shiny in the pan, but on the skin it is a lovely rich almost velvety look to it.  For a metallic look, you just apply with a damp brush.

One side 2/3 of the pan is the burgundy color, but the right side is a brassy gold color glitter eyeshadow.  Alone with no base, it is useless and looks like something you would buy in a toy store.  Used over a base with a damp brush you can get a better performance from it, but there is still fall out.

There is 2.2 g of product and the price is $19.50.

PEFORMANCE

IT'S A MIRACLE wears very nicely.  It looks great with green or blue eyes.  I find that the color is VERY close to the color in EARTHY RICHES MINERALIZE EYESHADOW if not exact.  The difference, however, is the texture. EARTHLY RICHES has to be applied wet to get the performance that I can get from IT'S A MIRACLE used dry.  EARTHLY RICHES was more like merlot colored dirt in texture.  IT'S A MIRACLE is more creamy and sticks better to the skin and itself too.

The gold side of IT'S A MIRACLE is okay- I don't mind it if used wet over a base, but honestly it is very chunky and annoying with the fallout.  If using a cover on the cheeks while applying it is doable and very pretty.

FINAL COMMENTS

EARTHLY RICHES MINERALIZE DUO was one of the nicest color combinations that MAC has come out with, so I am glad I was able to get IT'S A MIRACLE.  That is like the burgundy/merlot colored side and MIDNIGHT MADNESS is like the dark side of EARTHLY RICHES.

The quality of IT'S A MIRACLE is fabulous for the merlot colored side, but not so much for the gold side.  $19.50 is very expensive for this shadow, so it should be a color that you love and want.  It is something I use often and it really does a beautiful smokey eye with MIDNIGHT MADNESS in the crease.

For a burgundy colored eyeshadow IT'S A MIRACLE is an excellent buy.  It really does make green and blue eyes pop (probably others too, I just have not used it on them yet).
