MAC Fafi HIGH TOP —
MAC cosmetics comes out with some collections of products that are limited edition and they seem to be re-releases of former products with very slight changes.This is not the case with the recent release of the FAFI line of makeup products that MAC came out with a few weeks ago.
Fafi was inspired by a French Graphitti artist and it comes with a little design on the box and container to reflect this attribute.
One of the most exciting lipsticks to come along in a very long time was a color called HIGH TOP.
WHAT IS HIGH TOP LIKE?
HIGH TOP comes in a black shiny tube (MAC usually has a matte black tube) with MAC typed in graphitti letters on the cover of the tube. The bottom has a plastic sheath with Fafi characters on it. The sheath can be removed- I have heard that it is so MAC can continue to sell this product even after the license runs out for them to use the Fafi logo.
HIGH TOP is a very unique lipstick. It is not for the natural looking person who is afraid of unique makeup. The lipstick color is a mave base and it has aqua shimmer in it which is not subtle. You can see the aqua shimmer nicely when you wear the lipstick.
The finish is a glaze, which means that it is translucent.
HOW DOES HIGH TOP PERFORM?
HIGH TOP is such a beautiful unique color. The appearance is a lovely mauve red color with the aqua shimmer making it seem almost fairy like in appearance. The lipstick is see-through so that you are not wearing a heavy masking color. Your lips will still show through.
The finish on this lipstick makes it seem almost weightless. It does not moisturize a lot, but it does not dry my lips out like many other brands do.
I find that it wears quite well and I only need to reapply a few times through the day. It lasts pretty well through a meal leaving some aqua shimmer behind, so if you can not reapply , you still have some left on until you can.
WHO CAN WEAR THIS COLOR?
This color is for those who have spring palettes, summer palettes and some winter palettes. Spring people can wear bright aquas, despite having warmer haircolor such as carrot red, caramel blonde etc.
Summer paletted people have ashier bases to their hair usually but look good in pastels. This is a great summer color.
Those winter people who can wear turquoise, jewel tones and especially aqua blues, will also enjoy this color.
You have to use it wisely and coordinate it with other makeup and clothing, as it really looks lovely when balanced out with an aqua outfit and a touch of aqua eye makeup as well.
