I don't personally love mac, but I do love this brush. It is perfect for detailed, specific blending in the crease if you're doing a 'cut-crease' look. It's definitely a hassle to achieve the same effect using mac 227 blending brush because it's a fatter brush. The pointed shape of this pencil brush is firm, but soft to the eye. I clean it simply with make up remover and i haven't noticed loss in brush bristle quality. It hasn't shed brush hair, it is a very good quality brush. Sigma also makes a very similar brush ss219. You can probably save a couple of bucks and get the brush from them. This brush is also very useful in getting to small eye areas like the area near the tear duct, for highlighting the inner eye corner. It is definitely pricey though.
