MAC Brave New Bronze from Style Warrior Collection —
I am always on the lookout for lipcolors that make good nude lipcolors. As I get older, I am finding that it is less high maintenance to find really lovely nude lip colors to wear. It tends to make a person look younger, and God knows we can all use some of that from time to time.
WHAT IS BRAVE NEW BRONZE?
MAC just came out with a really nice new collection called STYLE WARRIOR. With a tribal influenced design on the bronze tubes of lipstick, two of the colors open up to reveal a leopard design inside the cap, and two others have zebra design.
I think it is really really cool. However, the color BRAVE NEW BRONZE is really a perfect nude lipstick for me for summer. Although it looks golden in base when swatched on my hand, on my lips which tend to be more pigmented with mauve based color, it turns out to look quite cool.
BRAVE NEW BRONZE is a satin finish lipstick. That means that it is not matte, but it is not shimmery either. It makes a gorgeous nude lip.
PERFORMANCE?
BRAVE NEW BRONZE is a bit drying as a lipstick, but not as bad as I first thought it was. I find that putting the GOLD REBEL lipgloss over the top of it (also from the STYLE WARRIOR COLLECTION) the duo is a perfect team!
The color is a gold based nude with quite a bit of warm pink in it. When used on caucasian skin, it tends toward a warm pink- works well for cool or warm complexions. However, when used on darker skintones, the effect is very unusual- it turns very pink- almost mauvey in tone.
BRAVE NEW BRONZE is long wearing for me- and although it is not quite as moisturizing as some other MAC lipsticks, I find that it does okay for me, especially with the GOLD REBEL gloss over top of it.
BRAVE NEW BRONZE is excellent coverage and quite pigmented. This is not a sheer lipstick, but nor is it too thick to apply. It is just right for me.
FINAL COMMENTS
BRAVE NEW BRONZE is one of those colors that you should try if you want a natural lip especially for summer. This color will give just a hint of color over the lips but it will make them look really nice- if you like that look that you are not really wearing makeup but want to look extra nice, BRAVE NEW BRONZE is a really nice color.
It is similar in texture to FLESHPOT which I did not like, but the extra pop of color makes it much nicer than FLESHPOT. I find BRAVE NEW BRONZE easier to work with.
