MAC Artistic License Technakohl Eye-Liner Kajal Review

WHAT IS ARTISTIC LICENSE TECHNAKOHL EYE-LINER KAJAL LIKE?

What a beautiful color!  ARTISTIC LICENSE TECHNAKOHL EYE-LINER KAJAL is a true turquoise with a beautiful aqua lime shimmer in it.

The texture of Artistic License Technakohl is a beautiful shimmery finish with great depth to it.  The formula of this color is very smooth, highly pigmented and stays put on the skin once it dries and sets, which does not take very long.

ARTISTIC LICENSE TECHNAKOHL is an automatic pencil with a finely chiseled point. You can make a fine line with the tip or tilt for a thicker line.  You can rotate up and down unlike the MAC eyebrow pencil which once you turn it up, you can not retract it again.

There is 3.5g of product in the pencil which is very thin black plastic.  The color of the eyeliner is on the end of the pencil for easy identification when working quickly with makeup.  The lid snaps on tightly so that the product won't dry out very quickly over time.

HOW TO USE ARTISTIC LICENSE TECHNAKOHL EYELINER KAJAL

Artistic License Technakohl liner is such a beautiful turquoise color- it is most similar to Liquidlast Liner Aqualine which is my all time favorite turquoise eyeliner.

One way I like to use it is to line the upper lash line and quickly with a clean smudge brush blend it up into the lid before it sets.  It is important to move quickly as once it sets, you can not move it anyore.  A gentle eye cream just prior to applicaion will extend the working time- I use Lancome RARE for eyes.

Under the lashline, if you use the tip, you can apply a thin line, but I like to blend this with the smudge brush as well.  Alone is really pretty, but over an aqua friendly eyeshadow- cream or powder, the look is pretty too.

Waterline lining is easy with ARTISTIC LICENSE TECHNAKOHL EYELINER KAJAL.  It stay on the waterline better than COLOUR MATTERS which is the chartreuse color of liner in the Makeup Art Collection which is where this came from.  I find that so far it stays on very well, but as I work with it more, I will update this review.

Lips- yes, one of my favorite ways to use this color is as a lip liner with such crazy colors as High Top (mauve with aqua shimmer) or other mixtures that I make up.  No, MAC does not recommend using this on the lips, I just find that liners on lips are not as sensitive as lipstick colors are.

Word of caution- I am an artist- I use what I want how I want to, but not everyone is as adventurous as I am.  If you have any fears or doubts about usage of any MAC product, you can go to www.maccosmetics.com and talk to a live consultant to find out what to use each color of each product for.  MAC has caution lists that you can refer to if you are at all concerned about any product they make and how it is safely used.

COMMENTS

I like ARTISTIC LICENSE Technakohl Eyeliner Kajal very much.  The color is bright and very useable for me.  It is more aqua turquoise than Sephora's Flashy Blue which is also a very pretty eyeliner, but is more on the cyan side than Artistic License

The chiseled tip of Artistic License Technakohl Pencil does not stay pointed unless you make sure to use it so that it does.  If you can remember to do this, it will make the pencil more versatile than if you don't.

I would like MAC to make this color permanent, but that is like looking for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow- you just might have it happen, but not likely.
