Facial Cleaner II is overly drying and stronger than needed.
MD Forte makes 3 different strengths in this line of facial cleansers, which vary on the amount of glycolic acid used in each formula. Facial Cleanser II is the middle strength of the 3 options. I decided to try this for my acne, as I have severe adult acne. I am not prone to overly drying, and use maximum strength salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide cleansers and ointments without having the flaking or redness problems that those with sensitive skin typically have. I also have used various alpha-hydroxy acid cleansers and get professional acne facials done with glycolic acid without problems, so I figured I could safely use Facial Cleanser II in my daily regimen. I surprisingly found it overly drying though even though I only used it once a day in my morning shower; within days, my facial skin had flaking. It did not burn or anything while applying it, but I just noticed my skin started flaking and it would not stop until I discontinued using this cleanser for a few days. As for the effect on acne, I did not think this improved my condition versus using normal salicylic acid cleansers that are commonly found in any drugstore or supermarket. My advice is to think carefully whether you want to pay the expensive price for this product if you are trying to use it to help your acne condition.
