Lysol Cling Gel--this isn't the little snap on disk that you attach to the toilet bowl. This is a liquid gel for cleaning the toilets. It comes in a 24 fl oz bottle and I got it on sale at Walmart for $2. I wasn't even planning on buying a toilet cleaner but when I saw the display and the scent (Country Scent) I thought I would try it. I have used it twice and it gets the job done.
The gel squirts out easily and is very thick and then runs down the bowl. It has a gooseneck so it makes it easy to apply under the rim. The instructions recommend you let it sit in the bowl for approximately 15 minutes--no problem, I just move on to some other chores while that soaks in. It has a wonderful aroma. You walk into the bathroom and it smells nice and fresh, like you have been burning a candle.
On the bottle you will find the following perks:
The bottle also says it contains quarternium ammonium compounds. I have no idea what those are so I'm wondering: "Is that a good thing or should I be cautious?" Perhaps that is why it also says not to mix with chlorine bleach or other household products. Too late for that warning. I used the Clorox Bathroom Cleaner with Teflon right after I used the Lysol product. Well, I didn't have an explosion in my house so I guess it was okay!
Reason for using 2 cleaning products. The Lysol Cling Gel did a wonderful job in the guest bath. That bathroom hardly ever gets used so it's easy maintenance. On the other hand, my bathroom gets a lot of traffic. In my area we get a lot of silt in our water (thus, the need for a water purification system). Anyway, sometimes the silt will produce a reddish-orange water line in the toilet bowl. The Lysol thoroughly cleaned the bowl but there was still a hint of the water line. So, I applied the Clorox with Teflon and the line is gone.
I will continue using both products. I'll keep the Lysol in the guest bath and the Clorox in mine.
A downside to the Lysol Cling Gel: The bottle is a little difficult to open. I guess it's a child safety issue but when you have Lupus, as I do, sometimes you can't manipulate lids, "squeeze and twist" caps or "push and turn" caps as easily as others. The first time I used it I didn't think I was ever going to get the bottle open!
