Luxor Hotel - Las Vegas, NV Review Summary

The Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas gets mainly good reviews from Viewpoints members. Reviewers say that the location is at the South end of the strip and “away from the madness” which is a plus. Reviewers also were enthusiastic about the excellent steakhouse located on the property of the Luxor Hotel. On the negative side, leisure travelers didn’t like getting constantly harassed by the people in the timeshare kiosks and felt that food was ridiculously expensive. Want to keep looking?      The Luxor Hotel and Casino is my number one place to stay on the Las Vegas strip for several reasons.  I have traveled to Las Vegas several times for leisure, and also lived in the heart of Vegas for eight months.  I know the town inside and out.  The second time I ever went to Las Vegas...

We were two couples that visited Las Vegas in March 2008. This was the first visit for both of our wives. Both my friend and I called and asked for non-smoking rooms. This was about a month before we got there. The staff promised us non-smoking rooms. But when we got there, we were told if we wanted...

I remember when I first moved to Las Vegas and I saw a huge spotlight in the air and I wondered what special event was going on.  My friends all laughed because the spotlight was for the Luxor hotel and it blares in the sky every night.  So the spotlight is first what brought me to the pyramid shaped hotel, and from the front you know this hotel is all about an Egyptian theme.  Gone are the days of the Pharoahs and Cleopatra's barge, but the theme is still found throughout the hotel and evident by the giant Sphinx at the entrance.  I like the Luxor hotel as a midlevel choice for hotel stays. ... read full review »

This review is regarding the Luxor hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. My fiance and I (now hubby) wanted to get married in Las Vegas. We were on a budget. We searched and searched for hotels on the internet for months. I found mixed reviews on the Luxor. Most of the reviews came from what I presumed to be rich snotty people that stated the Luxor was cheap and the decor was cheesy. I have been to Las Vegas a few times, and I know that you don't stay in your hotel room too much. There is too much to see in Las Vegas to be cooped up in a hotel room. On the flip side, I am a mother of four kids. I am always...

Our nightmare at the LUXOR HOTEL 2009

My husband and I went to Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas for our honeymoon on May 17th, 2009 and after waiting 13 years to get married, it was a trip we had dreamed about for all those years.  The result was nothing shy of a nightmare.  I had confirmed with Luxor three times prior to travel so there would be no glitches on arrival.  After waiting a half hour in line we were told our room was not available.  I had stressed to them my new husband has MS and had physical limitations and we required a spa tub when calling each time of confirmation for that...

The Luxor Hotel was definately a great hotel. It is shaped just like a Pyramid. I am one of those people who are afraid are heights and the fact that we stayed on the 18th floor was a bit scary for me. However, even from way up there it was a beautiful sight. The people at the hotel were very friendly and were willing to do anything needed to make sure that we were happy our entire stay. There were a bunch of different stores, restuarants and even a club inside the hotel. The first night there we picked up some McDonalds and ate there and gambled all night long. We awoke early that morning to go...

My husband and I traveled with 2 friends of ours to Las Vegas. We decided to stay at the Luxor because of it's uniqueness and the package they offered. Upon arrival it took over an hour to get a room. The room itself was clean but it was very obvious that room service neglected the windows. There were hand prints and grime all over them. We were not given everything promised in the package. They said it was not listed in their computer. Even when I showed them my reservation sheet they still did not honor our package. We were entitled to a spa treatment with massages, a bottle of wine and turndown... read full review »

I have stayed at the Luxor a few times and have always had excellent experiences. This last time was the best--we had a problem in our room (the internet didn't work). After two frustrating days of them trying to fix the internet, I went to the front desk at 10pm in a not great mood. The EXTREMELY nice front desk person immediately referred me to the night manager, who offered to put us in a better room. We ended up with what I can only describe as the Presidential Suite! It was fantastic, and the rest of our experience was equally as good. The only downside is extremely slow check-in and...

first of all they are definately correct with saying the corner rooms are bigger.  The theme is amazing.  You can turn the corner and you can find something that reflects Egypt.  My favorite part is going outside the front of the hotel where all the statues are.  I sat out there and just was able to peacefully reflect on my vacation.  I got some amazing pictures from luxor.

If you are traveling with kids I think it's a great location considering Excailbur is right next door.  Unfortunately,  the rest of the strip is a little far away.

There isn't a whole lot of as far as food choices....

We stayed at the Luxor through a vacation package we secured through America West Airlines.   The package can be set-up to include airfair, accommodations, transfers and transportation to and from the airport in one clean payment.    America West sets everything up for a first class vacation experience with a prepaid vacation package.    I will always use this service to set up trips to their destination areas.

The Luxor is one of many beautiful casinos, but the rooms in the towers are fabulous.   The room was a small apartment and you could have a party in the elaborate bathrooms. ...

I loved the Luxor hotel.  The room was great.  The amenities at the hotel was great!  I just loved it!!!  The price was next to the best on the strip and the location was very good.  When I go back this will be my first pick!

The hotel room was amazing. We loved the oversized tub, king bed. The only thing we really didnt like was how smokey the overall hotel was.
