I have Chronic Sinus Disease and have to occassionally go on antibiotics to help. The one that seems to work the best is Cephalexin which is generic for Keflex. I usually get put on it for a ten day regimen, 500mg 3 times a day. This medication works great but is very harsh on the stomach. It is not required to be taken with food but I take this whether I take it with food or not it gives me terrible rumblings in my stomach. You know what that results in! Yes, very loose stools! But I figure if it takes away my other problems I can deal with it for a short time. If you are allergic to sulfur based medications this one is not for you. You can smell the sulfur when you open the container. This is probably the reason it is hard on ones stomach. This medication is also given for ear infections. It does so well that I actually did ask my doctor to give this prescription to me when I was told I needed to go on antibiotics again. Great stuff!
