Thousands of Home Improvement Items On- Line
I have always had a general distaste for working on a home and that includes yard work, remodeling, general maintenance, and anything else that relates to fixing or repairing something in a house. But at the same time, I fully recognize the importance of home maintenance and I have a few select places where I turn for these types of products and services. One of them is a large retail store that contains thousands of items under one roof. The store I'm referring to is Lowe's and its on- line presence is Lowes.com, a web service that sells home improvement products. Web Site Commentary: Lowe's is one of only a few stores where I visit when in need of home improvement merchandise. I generally loathe this type of work and I tend to put things off as long as I can. But I know that home improvements and maintenance can only be avoided for so long. They have to be completed eventually and this is where stores like Lowe's are nice because they offer so much merchandise under one roof. I can get everything I need in a single shopping trip. Since I like the physical Lowe's stores, it makes sense that I would use the on- line store at some point and I finally got my chance one day when shopping for a new dishwasher. I decided that shopping at Lowes.com was better than shopping at an actual store because the on- line store would likely have more of the appliance I was looking for That appliance was a dishwasher and I was proven correct when I visited a Lowe's physical location store only to find that there were about 14 different dishwashers on display. Using Lowes.com I had access to nearly 300 dishwashers- enough to keep me browsing the selection for a long, long time. This brings me to one of Lowes.com's greatest assets- the amount of merchandise available. As most on- line shoppers know, web site stores usually offer only a fraction of what their physical location store offers and sometimes shopping on- line is impractical for this very reason. But with Lowes.com, there is an overabundance of merchandise. I mentioned dishwashers already, but the supply of goods is equally impressive in other categories too. In the drills & drivers category, for example, there are more than 250 choices. In refrigerators, there are nearly 800 choices. In ranges there are more than 700 choices. Other categories are equally impressive with only a few (like air conditioners- only 10 to choose from) offering a smaller than average selection. Depending on what you wish to buy, you may have to enter your zip code to see if a specific product is available in your area. This is true with most appliances and other large purchases. Lowes.com will quickly let you know if a product can be purchased on- line and delivered to your local Lowe's and/or whether it can be shipped to your home. The store delivery option is the one I recommend for most purchases. You have to drive to pick it up, but there is no shipping charge added to the order. The Lowes.com site picks a local store for you based on your home zip code. If you would rather pick up your item from another Lowe's store, you can change the location. Keep in mind that some merchandise will not be available for home delivery but most everything in the site is available for in- store delivery. Bottom Line Viewoint:
Overall, Lowes.com is a very good place to shop for home improvement and maintenance products. I got the appliance I ordered in only a few days and I went to the store to pick it up (I wasn't willing to pay the extra money for home delivery) to save money. Everything went smoothly with Lowes.com and aside from the difficulty in using the search box and the fact that some items cannot be shipped to your home, this on- line store is a very good place to shop.
