Love You Forever by Robert N. Munsch is an easy read book that's fun to read to children.  I was introduced to the book in the early 90's.  I went to a Gaithers concert at the Sailor Auditorium in Chattanooga, TN.  Gloria Gaither is known for her beautiful recitations.  She usually writes her own stories and then recites them to the audience but on this night she read the entire book, Love You Forever by memory.

The story tells of the love of a mother for her son.  When the child is born she cradles him in her arms and gently rocks him back and forth and back and forth.  And as she rocks...

I don't read this book very often.  It makes me cry every single time I do.  If you ever happen to read "Love You Forever", make sure you do it with your child in your lap and have a tissue nearby.

The book is simple.  It's about a Mother loving her baby boy.  It begins with her craddling him in her arms, singing him a simple song.

"I'll love you forever,

I'll like you for always,

As long as I'm living

my baby you'll be."

The book follows the baby boy as he grows into a toddler, then a big boy, then a teen, and straight into adulthood.  And no matter how old the Mother's "baby" gets, she sings...

"Love You Forever" is a beautiful children's book that made me cry. Maybe it was the hormones from giving birth, but when I read the book later it still touches me.

I received this book as a gift from the hospital after giving birth to my first child. What a thoughtful gift! I've also purchased it for several of my friends, and they also appreciate the touching story.

The writing is simple and flows well from one page to the next. The illustrations made my kids laugh as the son throws a watch in the toilet and has friends that sit upside down.

"Love You Forever" follows a mother and son as the...

I remember first grade. The year Ms. Guiterrez was my homeoroom teacher. The teacher's aid was reading this book to the class, while Ms. G went to the office for something. When she came back a lot of people, including Mrs. De Leon (the teacher's aid), were in tears and Ms. G looked at the class room in shock, when she saw the book in hand she nodded and understood.
Decades later, now that I have my son, its message means even more to me.

You would have to have a heart of stone to not feel any reaction from this book.

P.s.
Have some tissues handy.

Had it read to me as a child, read it when I learned to read.  Makes me want to cry thinking about it.  I will hold my mother in my arms when she is old.

The book Love You Forever by Robert Munsch is must reading for all mothers and especially Grandmothers .
It tells the story of a little boy and his mother from his birth until her old age in a short very memorable form. I get teary eyed every time I read this book . The illustrations are marvelous as you see the mothers love for her child is never ending and reciprocated by the child and how love is passed on to the next generation . When the mother sings and holds the boy you will tear up especially us older women .Not to give away the ending but seeing the child then sing and cuddle his own...

Love you forever is the cutest book for new moms of especially boys. It tells a story of a new mother holding her baby boy and she starts out by always singing him these words

I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

Well, the story goes on the child grows up the mother grows old and you'll have to read the book for the tearjerker ending. You will love it. I have bought it for alot of new moms and they love it too.

I Love You Forever  is such a  touching  story- every child and parent must read.  I love this book and bought a copy of it years ago. I sit my son down and read it to him at least once a year even though I have to fight back tears.  At 26 years old, I have some trouble getting him to sit and listen to it because he knows that I will cry at the end of the story.

I first hear this book at a teacher's conference and watched grown men cry. I came home and read it to my children with tear and since them read it to every class I've had, always having a hard time finishing the book. Now I have a grandchild on the way and am looking forward toreading it again.

A friend of mine, Dawn read this book to our church congregation on Mother's Day this year. Not a dry eye was found throughout the sanctuary! I even saw men trying to wipe away tears, hoping no one was looking! What an awesome and simple way to explain the true love between a mother and a child!

Love You Forever is a book I read to school parents of all ages and suggest to mothers to be.  It always brings tears to the eyes of the listener.

I do not want to give the story away, but it is absolutely charming.  If you need a gift for a new mother or father this is perfect.  If you are going off to college, consider purchasing this for your parents with a thank you note.  As you read it, see yourself and remember how your parents loved you through all those "adventures."

Children love it because they recognize themselves as they grow and mature.  They also see that they are loved and...

I've been a teaching assistant for 23 years and I've read thousands of books to the children through the years. Love you Forever is terrific and it always makes me cry. The book is beautifully written and you can't beat the price. The pictures are so colorful. The picture where the man is rocking his mom reminds me so much of my own mother who is in Heaven. All parents need this classic to keep for their children until they are grown.

My mother read this to me when I was very young and she plans to (thankfully) read it to my future grandchildren as well. This is a wonderful book that teaches the concept of unconditional love. It is a beautiful idea and I suggest that every little child hear this book AT LEAST once. it has concepts and ideas that everyone, no matter how young or old, should hold dear.

Absolutely amazing! I'll Love You Forever just has a warm feeling to it. Although it might be a bit long for a young child, the story is wonderful to read and express a parent's love for his or her child. The pictures are beautiful and the story honest--no matter what happens, you'll always love your child.
