It tells the story of a little boy and his mother from his birth until her old age in a short very memorable form. I get teary eyed every time I read this book . The illustrations are marvelous as you see the mothers love for her child is never ending and reciprocated by the child and how love is passed on to the next generation . When the mother sings and holds the boy you will tear up especially us older women .Not to give away the ending but seeing the child then sing and cuddle his own Mother and then do the same with his child is one of the most touching illustrations I have ever seen .
All Grandmothers should have this book - especially good gift for Mothers Day or on the birth of first Grandchild . It will have a special place on your book shelf and you will never part with it .
