The service is great at Los Tres Amigos. The atmosphere is comfortable and pleasant; it does not appear to have been overdecorated by someone who thought they knew what Mexican is. Mexican touches are just right and very sophiscated. Immediately upon being seated, the wait staff takes your drink order. The drinks come with complimentary salsa and chips which are great. The bar serves alcholic and non alcholic drinks. Sodas are refilled. The menu is varied with great descriptions. The food arrives quickly with large servings if you order a full sized entree. Desserts are good, but the only way I was able to eat one was to go back just to have dessert as I am always too full after eating my meal. I mostly have gone to eat lunch and my Margharita was superb. My brother, who has been a bartender, said that when he went with his wife at dinner the drinks were not nearly as good. He suspects the bartender was different.
The restaurant has facilities for large groups. I also found out this week that it is possible to purchase the salsa for take out. It was $5 per quart of salsa. I also bought the chips and a large bag was also $5. Next time I will skip the chips even though I did get more chips than I could fit in a gallon bag. The Salsa came in quart styrofoam containers. When I got home, I put it in Mason jars with metal lids and it lasted quite well. My guests thought I had made fantastic salsa, but unless they actually mentioned it I didn't tell them I had gotten from Los Tres Amigos. The waitress told me than many of their items are available for takeout.
I could not locate a phone number for this restaurant, so I had to make a trip to the place to find out what was available. They do have printed menus that you can take with you for future reference.
